Chico Community Park Pickleball Courts

Location: California » Butte County » Chico

4 tennis courts, 16 dedicated pickleball courts with lights. Great place to play. Generally open play in mornings and nights depending on the weather/temp. Has great lights for night play. They extended the night closing time past 10 PM during summer. People don’t show up until 5:45 or 6pm on weeknights unless you are bringing a group. There’s public bathrooms and lots of parking. Wide open park in the heart of Chico with Bocce Ball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, playgrounds and open grassy areas. A variety of activities for you to do from horseshoes to pickleball and softball to disc golf. It’s dog friendly all around good time. Well lit, well maintained pickle ball courts, and ample parking most nights. Beautiful park with nicely maintained tennis courts and 8 dedicated pickleball courts. Park is clean and safe. Periodic, harmless and mellow homeless folks. Baseball and soccer fields. Fills up during soccer, otherwise most od the park is blissfully vacant. Nice park with large fields and great tennis courts. Well maintained bathrooms as well. Very pet friendly too, there are dog waste bags provided and trash cans throughout the park. This park has the best tennis courts. Unfortunately they are next to the freeway, and the noise is extremely annoying. Lots of big open field, baseball fields, about 5 disc golf baskets, pickle ball and tennis courts, there’s a play structure for little kids and another one for toddlers and the picnic tables are nearby, and there’s even an area designated for dogs as well as a bag dispenser to clean up after them. Lots of soccer fields, tennis courts, beach volleyball pit and large play structure. Parking is rough on weekends, long waits to get to the rear and lots of homeless people.

Hey ready for a beat down. This is my home turf and I love my pickleball. Good place to play with 16 courts. Just be courteous to other players and rotate off court each game when others are waiting. No one likes a court gremlin.

Good park with a few rough edges as in most parks in Chico due to some homelessness ....but they were in some certain spots and it's a beautiful park with good softball bocce ball a few disc golf baskets tennis and pickleball courts plus a walking path. Playground: Good to go. Restrooms: Porta pottys and regular restrooms. Dog-friendliness: Yep. Picnic area: Available
Glenn J: ★★★★★
This park is great for playing with your dig, taking a walk, playing tennis, pickleball, bocce ball, or just relaxing. There's a children's play ground on the other side with swings, slides and monkey bars. There's public bathrooms and lots of parking. Im out here at least twice a week and it's truly peaceful and beautiful. Playground: There's a small playground in the back of the park by Chapman Elementary School. There are better playgrounds like DeGarmo or the park by Emm Wilson Elementary School.

We come here for the community Pickleball courts and absolutely love it here. Well lit, well maintained, and ample parking most nights. We're super happy they expanded the Pickleball section and cut down on some of the tennis. We're also grateful to see they seem to have extended the night closing time past 10PM, as it's barely cool enough to play in the summer heat by that time. 😅 Wish it were open 24/7, but we'll see, huh?? 😂🤗🙏🏽

However… All year long, most days of the week the afternoons the sports take up EVERY SINGLE PART OF THOSE FIELDS so if you’re not doing that you’ll find no room for anything else, the homeless set up at the picnic tables all day everyday as soon as the sun comes up (I know this from going to play disc golf there before too many people are around), and a lot of people don’t pick up after they walk their dogs in the fields where people play.
Patrick Price: ★★★
Average playground rather small for size of park and community sit serves though. Too few restrooms both of which are more often than not used by the transients for this and that. Nonetheless, the grounds are well maintained and the ball fields are great as well as the tennis courts to get down with yo bad self on. Would recommend. Oh yes, and the brand new Bocce Ball installations concrete just cured! Not really great for accomodating picnics with seating areas and tables very limited also.
Christopher Bush: ★★★
Fantastic well maintained super large park. Lots of soccer fields, tennis courts, beach volleyball pit and large play structure. Parking is rough, long waits to get to the rear and lots of homeless people.

Tried to do my granddaughters bday here and had to chase away several transients and clean several drug paraphernalia...used to be great park...disappointed
Kolette Connor: ★
Too, too many homeless are living on the outskirts of the walking track. Doesn't feel safe when I walk it. I'm VERY disappointed. Outhouses are disgusting because a ton of homeless are using them.
