One of my favorite gyms! Two swimming pools and spacious workout area. Nice sauna and steam room. Also has basketball court and ping pong tables. And many Tennis Courts, always clean and friendly staff
Ilam Mougy: ★★★★★
Fantastic gym, tennis courts, swimming and locker rooms. Enough parking space, never full. Love the ping pong table and the basketball court. The outdoor spa is great, albeit I miss the indoor one but the locker room upgrades are totally worth it. There are more upgrades coming to the swimming pool, which looked great on the simulation screen. If you are executive level you can visit all those clubs with one membership!

Forever being renovated inside the gym area and entrance. A number of outdoor pickleball courts may have taken over some of the tennis courts. Many former professional events held here at one time. Beautiful guest bathrooms.

Weekends are great but week day commuters fill the parking lot and amenities, to keep from sitting in traffic. They get a workout and a private shower, they also have private family showers. It starts to calm down after the carpool lane ends. It really is like going on a vacation. Two pools, one for families and a larger one for serious lappers, surrounded by individual couples cabanas. I don't use everything they have to offer, best to stop by and take a tour. Other things; in door basketball court, squash courts, several outdoor tennis courts, shaded by large Redwood trees, weight room, treadmills, speed bags and punching bags, a spin room, and still adding amenities. And if you have any muscle pain there is an onsite physical therapist Roberto, who helped me workout a shoulder injury. Great place! Great people! Easy to talk to.

Full service (no Spa); child care; indoor/ out door weight room; tennis courts; basketball court; studios; suana; steam; outdoor jacuzzi. They could clean th studio floor more often.

This is a great club. It has pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, party space, squash etc. It also had childcare options. The staff is well trained and courteous. Definitely worth the money.

We chose the Bay Club to play pickleball with 4 teams from work as a team builder. The folks who worked here were super friendly and fun! Our instructors were great at teaching newbies the rules of the game and they made the whole experience fun. The club is very nice, visually appealing and appeared to have some sort of summer camp going on which I thought was cool for the kids. The pool, courts and facilities were all very clean. The women’s locker room and showers were very nice, spacious and clean. All in all, we had a great time. If I lived in the area, I’d definitely get a family membership at this club.

Disappointed about the booking system for tennis. Need the highest level of membership to book 5 day in advance and get the ball machine reserved or 'in demand' convenient hours court reservation. With my 3 day in advance booking access, ... quite challenging and need to set alarms and book within 10min as the timeslot opens to get a chance. The sad thing is that there is no enforcement to check if people indeed show up and use the court, so I do not see it changing any time soon unless you pay premium membership (Golf level). Pools are great!! Classes have much less choices and levels than before Covid era, especially yoga, however I like those and I have managed to attend them even though they also get booked full on the app. Bottom line, great environment and facility (inside reparation/renovation has not made progress for 18 months) but too many members making access challenging at comparatively speaking a high membership rate.

Great for tennis but the main facility is undergoing a major renovation for the next year.
Paul Chiang: ★★★
Best selection of classes in the area. Group membership rates are as low as half the regular rate if six people (max) are in the group. Lots of activities: swimming, tennis, squash, hoops, table tennis. Large locker rooms. Many classes are held in a carpeted area that is poorly-ventilated and too hot. BC's uncertain future prevents it from doing renovations. This BC has neither child care nor a cafe.

Staff is friendly and the selection of facilities are decent. However, you have to pay extra to get access of racquet sports. Even this access is a 2nd class citizen. For example, the tennis courts are constantly booked by USTA. It is so hard to secure a slot. I'm looking for other options now and will cancel once an alternative is found.

UPDATE : I should probably take one star away . The club has been increasing dues every year and sometimes 2 times a year. This year the cost went up by more than 50%. That’s way higher than inflation! And - I don’t see a single improvement for the facility . Except They added some Gym equipment that most of the members don’t care about. 2 stars goes to the facility. It’s great. The staff is horrible when it comes to taking feedback or even just responding to an email or phone call ! They just don’t care. If you want to reserve tennis courts, good luck with that. You will never ever find one in the evening. They let USTA reserved courts a year in advance and they take up ALL the courts all year round. It’s a joke that they charge us an arm and leg for the fee and give such horrible customer service. I am reconsidering my membershipy. I may just take my business somewhere else and so should you !

Update 2022 April: After being a new member for 3 months so far, I finally reserved a tennis court to practice with the ball machine. Everything was good until I saw on the bay club connect app that there is a $25 no show fee charge (I was like what???). The next time I went to bay club and talked to the front-desk people and only at that moment I was informed that you need to check-in by words with them for tennis. Scanning barcode isn't enough. So what's the whole point of the barcode? There is no warning when you book a court on the app, there is no warning from the front desk people after you scan barcode, there is nothing except a no show charge. 2022 March: Didn’t feel comfortable at the gym. One gym cleaning guy kept looking at me, and even came in and judged my body shape while I was doing workout alone.

The tennis court usually booked by USTA. I booked it 3 days in advance, and it got cancelled lately on my appointment date, and then USTA got the court?! How ridiculous?

A very underwhelming gym for the price ( which they keep increasing ALL THE TIME, over $500 increase in 1 year with literally NO significant changes to the gym) The good: - sauna and steam room is a nice luxury to have. Not many gyms in the Bay Area have this. - if you value pickleball /swimming pool then you will like the facilities for this, they are big ! -multiple power racks for weight lifting. You don’t have your standard 2 racks that most gyms have so you can typically find one open in the morning. - free coffee in the mornings is a nice perk! Great way to start the day after a workout The bad : - Gym Equipment: you get very standard and outdated weight lifting equipment for the price you pay. You will get your standard bench press, dumbbells, a couple of traditional machines and that’s it. No new modern machines that you see on YouTube now in days. all of the equipment is very underwhelming for a gym of this price. You will find MORE machines at a city sport for 80% of the price. It does not make sense. - the buildings: the gym is divided into 2 major buildings. The area with the dumbbells and smith machine is very well lit, has windows, is clean, and just feels like a premium gym. The other building is old, shitty carpet, bad paint, and is where they basically threw all their shitty machines in. Since they separate half of the lifting machines this way, you have to cross from one building to another for some workouts which basically limits your ability to do power sets. Again, for the price this is very underwhelming - the hours: they open at 6 on weekdays and 8 on weekends. If you are someone that likes to workout early and make it to work on time, these hours are terrible. -use of space: this will be highly biased and subjective b/c I don’t have kids but there’s a huge playground area that never gets used. I don’t know why they don’t use this space for fitness. -staff don’t greet you, they seem unhappy to be there. Overall I don’t see this worth the price for what it offers. Price increases without any significant changes to the gym leave a very bad taste in your mouth. They keep saying “exciting new projects” and literally see nothing significant to address these issues (other people in the reviews have stated the similar feedback for some time now).
