Get a view of the bay. Pool etc. amazing. Close to everything u need in east bay. Continental breakfast smoothie is heaven. Key Takeaway: I should probably pick up tennis.

I will definitely recommend and try to come back here! I was only here to visit my friend for a short time but it was worth it. Beautiful grounds atop the hillside, expansive activities with the tennis courts and pools, great views! The room was comfy, bed was one of the best hotel beds I've slept in. Nice and quiet rooms, we had a great view of the city. The room is a little small the one we got, but the view was worth it from two huge windows. Very long hallways so get ready to walk haha. Mostly all of the employees were very hospitable and courteous, and even were super accommodating when the computer system was down when I was leaving. I loved the Le Labo toiletries haha
Allan Greenberg: ★★★★
A very classic hotel. The rooms have been upgraded throughout the years but still in some cases show the architecture of the early construction. There's an extensive exercise, swimming, tennis and more facilities. It is definitely worth a visit if for nothing more but to bring back the time of the grand old hotel.
Richard Nkrumah: ★★★★★
Obviously one of the best spots to stay at. We got the room with the view for $476, with the added bonus of breakfast credit. However, the website did not state the hidden fees. Of course this hotel caters to a specific demographic. The amenities are worth it if you’re into tennis! They also have the best hosts any hotel could ask for. I was only a bit upset that I had to wait 4hrs to check in; check-in is at 4pm apparently. Also, you can’t beat the free wine in the evening.

update Aug 22: Summer Yappy Hours were pretty fun. Service is off from pre pandemic but understand staffing is a challenge for many service oriented biz, so for now giving the benefit of the doubt: I mean the views and cocktails are awesome! Great swimming, aerobic classes and staff. Wonderful tennis program also...
Benjamin Plache: ★★★★★
This is my first time staying at the Claremont Club & Spa. Invited by family to stay for the weekend. This is the perfect getaway in the hills of Berkeley. It is a hidden gem! The service is hands down amazing, and the staff is incredible. This is certainly a special place with gorgeous views of San Francisco Bay. We certainly enjoyed A Room with A View. I wonder if Alfred Hitchcock filmed one of his masterpieces at this location? This was the swanky country club location for filming during Mrs. Doubtfire starring Robin Williams, Sally Field, and Pierce Brosnan. This is certainly a stomping ground of the rich and famous and constructed in the early 1900s, 1915, actually! If you love tennis, this may be your new vacation spot with a swanky country club feel. This is a luxury hotel as it is associated with Fairmont reputation!

brandon price: ★★★
This was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in, I was lucky to have booked a suite with a view and it was a brand new renovated room. It was in the "tower" of the hotel and had views on all 3 sides, gorgeous room. The downside are the taxes and fees they add on, each night had an extra $90 fee with everything they add. No clear description on the pool and jacuzzi location so was walking around aimlessly for a bit around the tennis courts. Overall the room was amazing but pay attention to the extra fees.

A place full of history with a beautiful view of San Francisco Bay. the breakfast from the bottom is excellent but the price is prohibitive... The service is of good quality and the individuals are available. Meals are very expensive and have few choices. The swimming pools, tennis and gym are very good.

Roceley Lo: ★★
$35 self park + $50 resort fee please add these to your budget! Paid $500 for a room with dog food leftovers and filthy windows. The building is very old and there aren’t big renovations happened within 20 years from what I can observe. The biggest upgrade they’ve had is probably the central AC. You can even smell the age of the house. The club isn’t as advertised it is a long walk and the swimming pool is very small. The only reason I can think of that can make some traction of this place is the tennis court but to be honest it is right next to the noisy roads with a lot of traffic you don’t get those resort feeling at all. Effie is a great receptionist who helped us waive the resolve fee hearing about the dog food leftover 👍
