Monday, June 3rd at 5:30 pm the City of Fremont dedicated and opened 8 brand new pickleball courts. It is free to the public and is set in a beautiful location. They have two sections (upper & lower) with a paddle rack system to designate the next set of players to take the court. They said they wanted one area to be more intermediate/advanced and another to be more beginner. The City has pre-wired the courts for lights and are awaiting funding to complete the install for the lighting system. So as of June 2024, shortly after the sun goes down, play will be over. They had ample parking and the opportunity for expansion.
Spencer Lin: ★★★★★
Attended the grand opening yesterday and was impressed by the warm staff, freshly painted lines, and free ice cream. Knoll court is a welcomed addition to Fremont .... finally! We spoke to the city council members and learned the courts currently do not have funding for lighting, however they are looking to install some in the future! The hours are dawn to dusk. Queue system has racks where players can put their paddles on instead of the conventional (and frankly worse) "put paddles next to nets".
Sid Gaonkar: ★★★★
These courts are fantastic, with a welcoming community of players. While they're often bustling, the paddle-in system ensures everyone gets a chance to play. The only minor drawback is the occasional windy spell; taller walls would have been beneficial. Additionally, installing floodlights would elevate this place to perfection.
Ernie Hsu: ★★★★★
Eight courts total: four courts are on higher ground than the other four courts. There's also a paddle rack closer to the parking lot. Due to the court layout, players on the west end of each court often have to face the sun directly in the morning, which can be quite blinding (even with sunglasses). To ensure fairness, I recommend that teams switch sides when either team gets to 6 points.
Saad Nadeem: ★★★★★
Solid place to play pickup pickleball Great community atmosphere Most talent level in the high 2s to low to mid 3s so great for newbies Does get windy and crowded
Kimchi Chow: ★★★★
Nice & organized pickleball courts with "first in first out" waiting system speed up the waiting time, not like other places that use "paddle down" by the court. However, the portable bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequently because they get full and smelly.
Ashish Gupta: ★★★★★
A nice, welcoming community of pickleball players of all levels.
Fred Liu: ★★★★
Free courts for drop in. Super busy on weekends. Pretty dark after Sun down
Andy Kuo: ★★★★★

Community is nice but too many beginners who don't know what they are doing and miss 80% of balls. It gets boring and a waste of time after a while; and most have no desire to improve, treating the sport as kid's or old people's play - most really have no idea what real pickleball is and seemingly have no desire to learn.
