Six pickleball courts opened in McBean Park in October 2023. They are located where the McBean Skate Park used to be, so navigate there. It's a serene setting under the trees, but you might want to bring a broom or leaf blower, which some players thoughtfully do. You can look for drop-in open play sessions by creating a free account on the PlaytimeScheduler.com website. There are bleachers near the courts. I wish there were paddle racks.I heard from other players that the Lincoln community had the choice between 2 lighted courts or 6 unlighted courts. Lights are expensive! McBean Park is a large park covering 24 acres. Lots of green space. Baseball stadium, pool, playground, horseshoe pit, dog park. You can rent out the Gazebo, Pavilion, Pool, or Stadium for special events. McBean Park hosts Fourth of July fireworks annually, which is an all-day big family event with food trucks, vendors, and a baseball stadium event. McBean Stadium is home to the Lincoln Potters baseball team.

Pretty cool park! I have a 7 year old who loves the playground area. He's also on the local basketball team so we get extra practice in at the hoop area that has plenty of space so we have not had to wait for a court. Recently tried out the dog park there. Both of my dogs had a blast running around at top speeds, made a new doggy friend, and I didn't see any poop left on the ground. Tells me people respect the park! I noticed a good number of pickleballers while playing fetch with my pooches. Not my game, but I liked knowing it was an option. Bathroom was clean as well.

They took out the skate park where another of the kids that live in lincoln used to be all the time and put in pickle ball courts. Lincoln has absolutely nothing for kids to do to stay out of trouble. This is a horrible place to live
Rick Ortiz: ★★★★★
One of my favorite places in the area. Big city park with a pool, pickleball courts, wide open grassy area, ball fields and it’s home to the Lincoln Potters!

Open pickleball courts.

Huge park near downtown Lincoln that has lots to offer. Basketball, tennis baseball and so much more. Gazebo, vast expanses of lawn, freedom memorial area, and I could go on and on. Shady areas with trees and so much opportunity to play ball. A child's or overgrown child's dream. Memorial area for lots of navy people who gave their lives for our country. My friend zeroed in while paying respect and noticed plaque where the person was born in 2017 with no date of death. I couldn't really make sense of it. Early evening the park was buzzing with happy people filling the park and getting their practice in. Very nice scene. The park overall was under utilized. I would have thought it to be more popular on a warm evening on a weekend. If you live nearby possibly in a newer build home with little yard space you might really appreciate this area. I tend to love lawn best when I don't have to take care of it. This fits the bill.
