For families, this is a great park with much to do splash pad, playgrounds, and pickleball courts. A lot of good fun for kids and adults. Lots of shady areas, picnic tables and BBQs, great atmosphere, and the Veterans Memorial to look at. The restrooms are really the only downside. Sometimes they're clean at other times, they're dirty or closed. Nonetheless, a nice active park to chill during the summer or for walks!
Sharon Kruse: ★★★★
The bathrooms are disgusting...with pickleball being so much more popular..there are hundres of people using the park daily.
Jonahdine S.: ★★★★★
New pickleball courts! Super nice and spaced out so your balls aren't running into other people's courts. Have umbrellas in between each court so you can rest in the shade. Dolan pad right next to it so our kids were playing in the water while we were pickling. Playground was also creative and fun. Bathrooms and table areas definitely needed work. Women's restroom had a whole door missing in one of the stalls and found three dirty needles on the tables in the picnic area. You can totally tell that the community it working on the upgrades but you can't really avoid the homeless doing what they do. Still give it 5 stars cause we all had fun and the homeless were nice people. Just be careful before setting up around the tables and the grass area.
Luis Guardado: ★★★★★
One of my favorite spots to play pickleball!

Jastro park was very neat and clean on the courts which is the area I was looking for but I had concerns about the homeless people laying in the park. I know it’s not nice but I had concerns about safety. I had hoped to play pickleball but there was no one there on a Sunday morning .
Joshua Patterson: ★★★★
They have nice shaded tables, tennis courts, and pickle ball courts, with timed lights for night matches. There were some needles on the stage area, and it's clear that homeless sleep there at night.
Richard Mayo: ★★★★★
Great friendly place to play pickleball. Huge park for lots of activities.
Bora Timkin: ★★★★
They just had to get rid of tennis courts in favor of pickleball courts. Fortunately this is not my go to spot, but I can't imagine trying to fight for the one tennis court now
Vincent Rivera: ★★★★★
Jastro park is one of the oldest parks in Bakersfield. We use the park for Pickleball. Great courts but they can be better. Hear the city is working on that
Ethan Aleman: ★★★★★
I fell in love with Pickle ball here it's like outside 2 man ping pong. Going to have my daughters birthday party here now. Thanks Bakersfield. =]
Blake Green: ★★★★★
Pickleball courts are pretty good. Well lit. Tennis courts look good too. Big open grassy area. Playground for littler kids.

Great park on Truxton. They have great tennis courts and a wall to practice solo on. I believe there's also pickleball meetups there.

Allie C: ★★★★★
Enjoyed the pickleball courts!
Nicole Staker: ★★★★★
Lots of pickleball courts

Remodel looks good but still needs Paving through the main part of the park also bathrooms could use an update. Would be great if it had a dedicated shower outside. To wash off after pickleball.

I play pickleball here and the courts could be nice, but they need to be resurfaced bad!
Julie Vawter: ★★★
No pickleball courts. All courts are torn out. 😫 …
Negative Reviews:
Uyoa Man: ★
Some old heads decided to remove the 3 tennis courts that were left in this park to put even more pickle ball courts leaving just 1 tennis court. Years back Jastro park had only tennis courts but a few years ago they added pickle ball courts in place of a couple tennis courts which was fine I guess. Fast forward to today, only one tennis court is left and the whole rest is pickle ball courts, like who is in charge of these decisions? Do they not know that a single tennis court won't be enough for pretty much the center populace of Bakersfield? Talk about inconsiderates
