The courts and nets are in great shape. There are dividers along the fences to help keep balls from going in to adjacent courts, courtesy of the El Cerrito Tennis Club. (2022) The location is sheltered from the wind on most days. Unless there's a special event (which is common on weekends), there usually isn't a wait. There is ample street parking. The restroom is locked, but there is often someone with a key, which may be purchased from the city for $17. Due to the elevation, it can frequently be shrouded in fog !

I’m pretty envious of the people who live near this park. It’s almost perfect for kids with play structures, pond, mature trees, picnic areas, views and large, well-kept grounds.

I grew up here. A little history; When we moved to El Cerrito in the late 50's, this was a big pond with a derelict house sort of sinking into it. There was a horse stable at the bottom of the hill up against Arlington Blvd. which burned down in 1959 or '60. Before Camp Herms was built above this park in the 1930's there was a rock quarry that sent carts of gravel through the current park area and under Arlington and down the hill alone Moser. You can still see the tracks under Arlington at the sharp curve (unless they have been removed). Lots of good times there catching snakes and other critters in the pond and playing in the new park. This park lies directly on top of the Hayward fault. Brian C

Bonus points for sandbox next to little kiddo playground, doesn't seem to be overrun by neighborhood cats. Also big kid playground, nice level grass good for sports, great tennis courts resurfaced somewhat recently so not too many cracks etc.that can throw off the game. Restroom still locked but water fountain is new w/bottle fill not just traditional water fountain

The park is beautiful! I went to Kensington Elementary school and hadn't been there for quite some time. It was a great day! The park was full of kids and families enjoying the weather. It was great to see after being couped up for over a year!

It's convenient that you can book picnic tables for celebrations, and easy parking along Arlington Road is a plus
