I don't play pickleball but the crowd sure loves it.. very organized and a bunch of people that look like a lot of fun... There's a lot of activities going on also for kids and adults...
Tonnette Leonard: ★★★★★
Awesome pond with ducks coolest play ground for kids nice trail to walk
Andrew Ramos: ★★★★★
The pickle ball was hella fun, lots of people here. The kids seemed happy in the playground area. There is a corner market if you need drinks nearby. The public bathroom is nightmare fuel... But it's like that every where I have gone in America. Restrooms: Atrocious!
Seth Oberst: ★★★★★
One of the best parks in sac! Large and elaborate playground, slit into three age groups. Large sand play area. Also Basketball and tennis courts. Fishing too. Eventhough I have never caught anything I have seen others. A group was play pickle ball when we last came. Looks like some of the semi broken exhibits have been repaired or replaced. Parking is a little tricky but there is always a spot eventually. Family favorite.
Matias Bustos: ★★★★
Great park. Free parking on the street. Large playground. Areas for picnic. Court for pickleball and others. Small areas for fishing.
Jose Guerrero: ★★★★★
Beware of this little pug bear cub sniffing around your pic-a-nic baskets! Lots of tree shade, lots of wide open sunny spots, a small lake to pass the time around and some art installations to go on self curated romantic art tours with your boo. Photo courtesy of Mapurunga Photography. *Dedicated pickleball courts and tennis courts. Be sure to sign up on playtimescheduler dot com for Tues Th and Sun sessions.

Southside Park is one of the most beautiful city of Sacramento parks I’ve seen in Sacramento!! I love seeing the ducks swim in the pond! The pond looks so phenomenal! This park is so phenomenal! Very nice to take walks, play tennis, play basketball, and a big playground for the kids to play and have fun! Simply amazing!!! 🥰

Matthew Braun: ★★★★
Great city park, fishing, basketball and tennis courts, a super cool space-themed playground for little to big kids. Lots of picnic area as well. Try to pee before you go, bathroom is often closed or unusable.
Shanequa Whicker: ★★★★★
I personally love south side park. There are for sure homeless that sleep there at night time and you’ll also find them there early morning. I usually come after school time and on the weekends and of course during the summer. They used to have a pool attached to the park but a couple years into Covid they drained the pool and haven’t opened it again, but they still hgaw monthly events there. There is also a large event area on the other side of the park and the walk around the pond there is nice. There are two bathrooms there and a drinking fountain which me and my child love. So, If Ty go close to or at night, bring some protection. If you got during The Weeknd be prepared for a lotttttt of kids. A pro tip: If there is an event or festival going on in the event area near the park, the park is dead so it’s a good time to go. There is also a basketball and tennis court attached to the park. :)

My kids love this park and it's really big you can fish play music basketball football tennis soccer you name it you can do it at this park two thumbs up I got respect for the details Southside park put in for my kids and me to have a good time thank you

This is my favorite Park to take my grandkids. Because it's got two separate sections situated where I can sit in the middle and see both of them since one of them is 10 and one of them is three it's perfect. Actually wish there was a additional play structure here for the even bigger kids. Because there's a lot of space at Southside Park and there's a lot to do even with a stage and the rocket ship and the pool and the community center and the playgrounds there's tennis courts there's still space to build yet another structure so these kids who want to come and climb all over the play equipment clearly need something to be doing that is not destructive to the environment. It's just their nature they need something to do. Other than that it's great

Stopped by to get some physical activity and while waiting for my son. It's close to the society for the blind so it's very convenient. The park is well maintained and since now it's fall the trees are just beautiful there is a small lake some picnic tables and a community pool that's closed because of the weather. I'll return to get some exercise in every time I'm in the area. On the downside, parking can be a little difficult and it's metered. Playground: Well maintained, kid friendly. Restrooms: Restrooms were closed, I was there early. Dog-friendliness: Saw several people walking dogs. Picnic area: Picnic tables are available.
Pamala Clark: ★★★★
The park its self is beautiful, but its dirty garbage everywhere and the bathrooms are discussing. The play area is big and well kept for the kids. But the bathrooms need a lot of help. And there's not a lot of places to sit and watch especially if there is a party there. They have a swimming pool that you can enjoy and basket ball count and tennis court also or just have a nice walk around and fishing.
Joshua “Joshus The Great” Rivas: ★★★★★
Beautiful park, with horseshoe pits, barbecue and picnic areas, large playground, basketball and tennis courts, plus a great pond for fishing. Great place for family fun.
Taylor kohl: ★★★★
I used to live here. It was nice. Walk across the park, playing on the playground after hours.. lots of trees, tennis courts, basketball courts, benches, mud and grass.. cement.. murals.. there's a pond with an island. -1 stars for the time I almost got punched in the face here.
Kenneth Nourse: ★★★★★
City park with a (now-closed) public pool, tennis courts, and playground surrounding a large pond. I've visited all times of the year, but early evenings while still light during spring, summer, and fall have been my favorites. Picnic tables line the NE corner while an outdoor theater area and open grassy areas continue south to the souther border elevated highway. Waterfountains in the playground.
Lucia Gaitan: ★★★★★
Great park for the kids and adults! Its spread out and there are many things to play on. Also the basketball courts have pick up games and there are tennis courts! On Sunday you can always find vendors near by selling delicious treats!
Jordan Wilcox: ★★★★★
Cute park with childrens play area, basketball court, and tennis courts
Fred Davis: ★★★★
Nice downtown park. You can even go fishing there. Nice playground, lots of picnic tables, tennis courts, basketball court, and a very nice Mexican mural.
YAP MAN: ★★★★★
Good park, tennis, basketball. Pool in the summer.
Matt Goodell: ★★★★
Play tennis here. One court is down but the net was removed so assuming City is fixing it (hope so - kinda popular tennis/pickle use). Overall park has nice vibe.
Nick Mac: ★★★★★
Love this park. Basketball court tennis court pool grill... All the fixings.
Christina Black: ★★★★★
This park is pretty awesome, it have a safe walking trail around the park, it has tennis court, basketball court, good size playground with a cool spaceship made out of vintage trailer in the air. A big pond l, can go fishing there. It has a swimming pool. Parking is free on one side of the park for 2 hours, other areas you have to pay. Nice nature, also around the pond, you will see butterfly homes and animals. A small downside is a lot of homeless people around the park.
Tai Theguy: ★★★★★
Uh... It's a park. Better than some i guess. Regular ghetto bathrooms, (not enough) drinking fountains, good playground, basketball court, tennis, lots of wild life in the pond including fish, plenty of joggers even after dusk, low crime (there's about 6 churches directly across the streets). Parking is ok. You might have to drive around a corner during busy times. Check out the historical plaques posted around the pond. Apparently the park used to me much bigger, before land was sold to make way for the freeway. Hands down, best jackalope "sighting" location in town. Jackalope hunting not technically permitted, but security is nonexistent, so...
Traveler In Motion: ★★★★
Great park. Basketball courts. Tennis courts. Large aquatic pond. Grassy areas. Playground. Unfortunately, next to freeway. Sorry i didn't take pics.

I had never been to Southside Park before and I've lived in Sacramento for 35 years I was impressed by the park it was pretty big which I didn't have no idea was and there is a playground and a basketball court and a tennis court and it was a lot of shade of ailable and I think it would just be a good place if you wanted to throw a birthday party have a jump house or just throw a family BBQ or family reunions I think it was pretty cool but I think you need to bring your own tables just to be safe.
Ferras Elshair: ★★★★★
Cute park next to the Sacramento Farmer's market. It has swings, a playground, basketball court, three tennis courts and bathrooms. Plenty of picnic tables.
P. Dilone: ★★★★★
Let's maintain parks green, clean and with wholesome activities, such as; barbecues, tennis, basketball and let's add a handball court.
Douglas Droze: ★★★★★
Safe place to bring the kids, has lighted tennis courts and is kept very clean overall
Jose Rodriguez: ★★★★★
This park is deep in Sacramento history. The pond is the last remnant of a vast wasteland that once existed outside the confines of downtown Sacramento. The park has lots to offer; tennis courts, a fishing pond, a very nice playground complete with spaceship, bocce courts, picnic tables and a large stage. This park hosts large events and music festivals throughout the year.
Keith Sabini: ★★★★★
The playground here is awesome. My kids have always loved playing here. There are plenty of wide open spaces to run around in. There are also basketball courts and a tennis court. It's a fun place with many things for a family to do.
Tracy James: ★★★★★
Came to play tennis. They have 2 courts and it was very clean and well setup. The only issue was the deafening noise comung from the highway. They also have a great kids area.
Adam Al-Antably: ★★★★★

This is only in reference to the Pickleball Courts. People here were rude! My husband and I were visiting our son in Sacramento. Our other kids drove over from Tracy and Oakland to meet us. My husband and I love pickleball. We play all the time and have went to various pickleball places. This one was not welcoming. Came across two different women who were extremely rude. We love the pickleball communities we have come across and always had a great experience. I would not recommend this one. We only met one lady named Marnie who was absolutely a sweet heart. Everyone else were a bunch of snobs. It’s sad because we just wanted to spend time with our kids who we don’t see often and show them the game of Pickleball which we truly love. We still stayed and played for awhile because most of the people ended up leaving afterwhile. To those of you who are rude to new people shame on you. You were once new to the game. You had to learn the game as well. If I come back I want to challenge those who were rude to us to a game. I watched most of you play and yall are not that good. Pretty sad that you treat people this way. At this point I won’t be coming back to these pickleball courts. I’m so thankful for the community I play with in my town. They are so welcoming and wonderful. I hope y’all change your attitude and the way you treat others.
