Alta Loma Park Tennis Courts in South San Francisco, CA

Summary / Description

1 tennis court. No lights. Cracks on the court need some maintenance. Medium sized quiet and clean park with tennis courts, playground, picnic area, basketball court, 2 bathrooms, several picnic tables, BBQ grills, large green fields for frisbee or football, and reasonable parking. Street parking is free. Picnic area reservations have priority for picnic tables and the charcoal grills. If you go on a Saturday, be sure to check the sign behind the tables to see if it’s reserved. No alcohol allowed. Open city park with a basketball & tennis court, playing fields & a playground. There's a walkway that runs the park's perimeter and there's a barbecue area. Beautiful park with South San Francisco mountain view. The only downside is on a windy day this park is super-windy.

The park is small but has a lot of fun things for kids. It’s easy to keep an eye on the kiddos. Also if you go on a Saturday be sure to check the sign behind the tables to see if it’s reserved. When we were there we set up a table and we were quickly asked to move.

Very clean. Playground and surrounding picnic tables, benches, and grills are clean and in good maintained order. Restroom was very clean and stocked with all the toiletries when we were here. There was also plenty of parking spots and quite a few even had shading for the entire day.

Alta Loma is located in a sleepy residential neighborhood. Easy to park and limited risk of losing track of your kiddos. The playground area is small, but includes a great climbing rope, saucer swing and teeter totter eliciting several hours of fun. The grassy area and path for bikes or runners is an added bonus. My only complaint is that they lock the bathrooms way to early. We have been here around 6pm and already found them locked.

Very cute park with a huge jungle gym. Has picnic tables and bbq pits all around. It also has 2 baseball fields, 2 tennis courts and a field big enough for soccer.
Cory “Travel” Lee: ★★★★
The structure that kids can climb up is literally rickety, and if small enough, a kid could fall through. It is small, so you can keep an eye on kids, but still, I do not think it is that safe.

The court as of June 28th 2024 has deep cracks on the lines. Enough to have some weeds/plants or the crack itself effect the bounce of the balls. Please renovate the surface please.
