a review from @amom2kidsandapark Our saving grace during the heat wave that just coincidently happened to land on the weekend we booked for camping. Make lemonade am I right? This lake is perfect for families! The water is shallow at the shore about 5 yards and isnβt choppy nor does it have big waves to knock over wobbly toddlers. The sand is more like beach sand than muddy lake sand Iβve seen at other lakes and perfect for sandcastles. The trees cover the beach area to give perfect shade. There are bathrooms near by and a parking lot too! There are picnic tables and bbqs on the beach and on the grassy area in the park. Thereβs even a playground and recreation courts! The playground has a swing set with both standard and bucket swings. The structure has three slides (long, short, and spiral), steps, ladders, climbing tunnel, a bottomless side less slide (ya know the just bar kind), educational activities, and climbing walls (both rocks and open holes). Nearby is a fitness area, basketball court, beach volleyball court, and pickle ball court. Everything at this park is free but itβs maintained by volunteers so there are donation boxes trickled all around. With this lake only being about 7 mins from our camp site, it was a simple adventure to add to our camping trip! We loved this place so much the first day we decided to stop over before driving home for a second day. (Significantly less busy on Sunday vs Saturday)

What a beautiful hidden gem. Baseball diamond, frisbee golf course, a beach area, picnic tables, charcoal bbqs (currently closed due to fire season), playground, tennis court, logging museum, and beach volleyball court. Love the trail around the lake and so did my little one (9yo) and 7lb yorkie. Gorgeous views, low key vibe, and tons of space to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends without being overwhelmed by nature.

A nice park to swim, kayak, hike, have a picnic or BBQ. Also has a playground, tennis courts, volleyball, baseball and Frisbee. There's also a par course. Pets are welcome. Fun for everyone!

A "small" but wonderful place with amazing sights. Enjoyed a relaxing evening there with my family. We swam around in it's little lake and I personally went on a trip amongst it's trails, which involved catching some beautiful sights of the park.

Beautiful small lake. Great place to walk in any season. Playground: Nice large play area. Swings, slide, climbing structure. Restrooms: Many times the restrooms are locked or not filled with supplies. Could use more locations. Dog-friendliness: Wonderful place to take your dog. Please observe the No Dogs on the beach signs and keep you dog on a leash! Even if your dog is friendly not evey other dog is! Keep your dog safe and under control and leashed. All dogs deserve a nice walk in the woods.

Wonderful lake for families and local residents. Yes, many visitors and vacationers as well. If you go... donate to the park, it is maintained by volunteers and they need support.

Warm waters in the summers are great, but there is always lots of people during the holidays and weekends. There are some great fish spots to fish, and walk around the lake.

Dog-friendliness: All the barking dogs kind of took away from the peacefulness of the place. Picnic area: Lots of picnic tables available.

Grandchildren really enjoyed the playground and the beach. We arrived around 0945 and had playground to ourselves. Then went over and parked by the beach where there is a line of picnic benches and a beach. Only downside was the geese, their droppings and down in the water but they moved on. Needs geese control otherwise paddling and swimming area could become polluted.

Beautiful as always during this time of year. Bathrooms with running water. There's also a playground, basktball court, picnic tables, and other eminties, Never too crowded even during the holiday weekends. The White Pines Committee and volunteers here keep this place very clean year round. They aren't funded by anyone, so I always bring a little bit of cash to put into the donation box that they have around the lake whenever we visit to help out with toiletries and other necessities.

Definitely LOTS of people enjoying this lake. The water is warm for being at almost 5000 elevation. Lots of picnic areas but if you arrive by noon, bring your own table. There were people leaving at 1pm when we got there at noon. Good amount of parking space. Lots of people paddle board, canoe, fish and swim. Definitely recommend for those wanting a nice getaway from the city.

Smaller little lake that is great to hang out at or paddleboard/kayak. Ample parking, plenty of picnic tables etc. Had a great time paddling a couple of laps around the lake. Seems like a decent fishing spot as there were a bunch of people fishing, but cant confirm that since I didn't actually fish.

Great swimming hole. Water is clear enough to see the trout. There is a rope swing, a beach area and lots of shaded day use areas with bbq grills. There is a trail around the lake β¦ you do have to wade through the stream below the dam to make the full circle. Folks take their dogs to the stream below the dam for a swim. This is a beautiful spot with a relaxed vibe. There is plenty of free parking as well.

Serene lake. The perfect summer time lake spot. Great for picnics and BBQs. The main area off the parking lot can get crowded but does have the sand. Arrive early enough to grab your spot. Please keep this place awesome and clean up after yourself.

Fun little place to catch a couple of panfish. Bluegill and sunfish. And a good tan. Not a very busy fishing hole and not a very well-known one. A lot of fun with just a worm and a barber. The kids would love it, great training ground for the new fisherman in your life.
