8 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts, 2 indoor pickleball courts with portable nets in Greenacres Community Center PicklePlex in Bakersfield, CA. Community center has NOR office, indoor basketball gym with AC, yoga, senior events, karate, restrooms, vending machine, swimming pool, baseball field, and outdoor pickleball courts. Lots of benches and shady trees in the park. Huge shelter picnic area with 10 tables, 5 grills, and trash cans! Restrooms, lots of grassy area, sidewalks all around playground area, private parking lot, and set off main road.

Pickleball Court Etiquette And Guidelines

• Be kind, courteous and supportive to other players. Pickleball is a cooperative sport.
• No unsportsmanlike conduct. You will be asked to leave the court if you exhibit offensive or unsafe behavior such as using profanity, making obscene gestures or throwing paddles or equipment.
• Be generous with line calls. When in doubt, the call should benefit your opponent.
• Call “ball” when balls leave your court to alert affected players and maintain their safety
• Pickleball courts are open for first come/first served public use.
• Organized leagues, instruction and tournaments must be coordinated through NOR.
• As a courtesy, please do not park in front of the mailbox across the street.
• No chairs, bikes, skateboards or scooters on the court.

Court Rotation

• When players are waiting, four or more, use the court sign-up chart.
• When game is complete, next four waiting rotate on the court.
• Waiting players continue to move up the line as players come off the court.
• Court use is limited to standard game scoring format; first to 11 points, must win by 2.
• When all courts are in use, courts 3 & 4 are for beginner players only.
• The remaining courts are for all skill levels.

Parking Reminder

Out of courtesy and respect for the neighbors surrounding the park, NOR requests the following from all park patrons in regard to parking at Greenacres:

• Please park either in the lot west of the Pickleplex or on the park side of the streets (Suncrisp and Telestar) bordering Greenacres.
• Avoid parking on the neighborhood side.
• Please be mindful to park legally at all times.
• Do not park in front of the mailboxes or fire hydrants.
• Remember to watch for children and pedestrians.
• Watch your speed.
• Encourage those who may not be aware of these guidelines to follow them.

Pickleball Peak – Ages 6-17

Ages 18+ Get ready to serve up some fun at our Mixed Pickles Tournament! It’s a pickleball extravaganza where you can slam, dink, and volley your way through pool play matches. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, this event promises thrills and friendly competition for all levels. Join us for a day packed with pickleball action! Compete in skill-specific pools for levels 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+, with the top four teams from each pool advancing to the ultimate showdown in the final bracket. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this unforgettable pickleball experience!

Beginning Pickleball – KINS B21PB

Ages 18+ Discover pickleball, a dynamic blend of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong! Perfect for all ages and skill levels, enjoy doubles or singles play. Learn strokes, rules, and etiquette – dive into pickleball fun!

NOR residents receive a 15% rebate for specific BC classes taking place at NOR facilities.
This course is offered by Kern Community College District at locations provided by NOR.

Open Gym

Ages 13+ Open Gym invites players of all levels to enjoy casual play, meet new people, and hone their skills in a friendly environment. For just $3 a day or $30 for a 15-day pass, you can join in the fun. Passes can only be purchased at NOR centers during office hours. Remember, Open Gym is all about inclusive, non- competitive play—no private lessons or closed groups allowed. See you on the court!
