6 lighted tennis courts in Hellman Tennis Center in Edwards Stadium in Berkeley, California. Well maintained. One of the oldest track and tennis stadiums in the country. A great place to compete. It’s not public, but if you take a class through UCB Recreational Sports you can play on them. Courts are open for public use when not reserved for university teams. You can check for specific court availability and reserve courts online or by phone, with reservations recommended, especially for non-residents. Most of the women’s marches are free to watch at UC Berkeley. Hard to find a parking spot. Named in honor of former alumnus Isias Warren Hellman III, the Hellman Tennis Center is home to Cal’s tennis teams. The center was built in 1983 and features six courts used for practice and home dual match competitions. Reservations

The facility is open to the public for tennis and pickleball play. Reservations are recommended to play. Reservations may be made online or by phone. San Francisco residents get may book courts 8 days in advance while non-residents may book courts 7 days in advance. Residents also get discounted resident pricing on rentals and classes.
