I went to the Grand Opening of the 10 new pickleball courts run by iPickle. The courts are beautiful and all have permanent nets and are painted in 3 tones. Most of the time you have to pay to play by reservation through the app. There are some free to play times throughout the week. I'm excited to try it out!

You can register at the office next to the tennis court bleachers (stepped chairs). Here at the 🎾 tennis court, there are ways for children and adults to learn from teachers and form teams. The boys and girls learned a lot during the evening. This place has a large park and⚽️soccer field⚾️baseball field. There are many big trees, so it is cool and the air is good in the summer, so it is a place where many people enjoy 🚶‍♀️walking and 🏃‍♂️marathons. Next to the Coyote River, a 🚴‍♂️exclusive bicycle road stretches along the river toward LA and Long Beach. I took the time to do a marathon along the bike path for about 1 to 🏃‍♂️ 2 hours. When I run along the road, there is a lot of smoke, noise, and dust, but this place is very, very nice. And I often ran up and down the tennis bleacher stairs and around the soccer field, losing over 30 lbs. It’s a meaningful place to me 👍💖

This quiet community park features a central lake perfect for fishing, remote-controlled boats, relaxation, and more. It's a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Most recently, I've come to walk the trails and get a simple workout at one of the two outdoor gyms. These gyms use your body weight for resistance, which is excellent for all fitness levels. This park has a lot to offer: * Sports Fields and tennis courts * Swimming Pool (open during Summer hours) * Fishing with trout and catfish stocking, depending on the season. Family fishing events are also available. * Indoor and outdoor basketball courts * Skate park (free to use) * Tennis Pro Shop and Lessons * Ten Pickleball courts are available through reservation only * Picnic areas, some of which are covered * Jungle Gyms for the kids * Annual fairs and events for the community * Pokémon stops and gyms * Plenty of parking on most days. Events and sports days can make it challenging Quick facts: * One loop jogging around the park is approx. 1.5 miles (based on my GPS) * Picnic areas are first-come, first-served, or must be reserved through the park website for the covered lots. * Security patrols the park. * The Coyote Creek Bikeway is adjacent to the park and goes to Seal Beach. * A variety of ducks, geese, and other feathered friends tend to take over some of the park. Be cautious of the bird droppings, which, I think, are washed once a week. Playground A few playground areas as well as open air gym stations Restrooms There are a few restrooms open during park hours only. Dog-friendliness Doggie poop bags are available around the park. Picnic area Most areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but you can reserve the larger covered areas at the park office.
Over 50 acres of outdoor activities, including a fishing lake, swimming pool & basketball courts. ★★★★★

By far, one of the prettier parks in so cal. The lake is sprawling, into little bays, and an upper level that drops down via a waterfall, which also aerates the water for the fish. Plenty of park benches, but bring a portable chair if you want to fish statically by the shore. There's plenty of trees for shade. It is in a good area with many ethnicities and everybody gets along, and there are no racists and gangsters here. The walk paths go around the park, reaching the Sports Complex and Coyote Creek, which goes on for miles if you want to hike further. This is an ideal place for runners, cyclists and walkers. There are five baseball diamonds that I can see, snack bar and lots of playgrounds for the kids. There is a skatepark, tennis courts and pickleball courts. There is an olympic swimming pool and a 6ft. deep wading pool. It's a haven on the weekdays, but crowded on weekends. The fishing is good after it gets stocked. This is the safest park that I have been to. Just be on the lookout where you step..bird droppings are all along the lake shore. The grassy areas may have dog feces. Overall, it is the best park in socal. Restrooms Ample restrooms throughout the park. Dog-friendliness Great place to bring your dog. Picnic area Picnicking is excellent. Lots of shade.

Pickle ball central, sorry tennis peeps. Always a good time with great personalities while playing. Sharing stories and talking pickle any night of the week. I don't want to post too many good things to keep the crowds to a tolerable minimum 😉 Restrooms Public Restrooms

10 new pickleball courts... Great Park! Go check it out it's good family fun, easy access to bathrooms, and a variety of sports to enjoy. The only really bad thing is, they charge big time for their courts, $10.00 per hour per person. Pickleball should be a free sport for sure, bad choice to charge, I will go somewhere else for free. Plenty of free Pickleball parks to play for free. Do not go there! Alexa
Angela Gunderson: ★★★★
The park is very nice but I couldn't believe they charged $40 for a pickleball court. It's a day pass, but really, how long can you play pickleball? They have some free hours but in the middle of the day. Seal Beach tennis club is half that. We'll play elsewhere.
William "Bill" Bielinski: ★★★★★
Great park for everything and to notch pickleball courts.

Great for pickleball on the weekends!

Courts 9/8/3/4 have huge cracks in them filled with a deteriorating rubber material. The city needs to repair those quick. It’s horrible for gameplay and I imagine someone could get hurt. Came here during free play in the week which is 12-4p. Most free play courts 6-10 were open. I tried asking someone if they’ll take a 4th and he declined and kept playing 2 on 1 🤷🏾‍♂️. I’ll try again next time. I ended up practicing with a person that showed up solo. Thankfully they were cool about it. Also what’s up with the half wind wall. I like the 3D printed paddle holder, Good thinking.

I've been frequenting iTennis Cerritos pickleball courts for about 6 months now. I also occasionally frequent the iPickle La Habra and Whittier Narrows locations. By comparison Cerritos seems to have the most fractured community, making it more awkward to be a solo player and leading to very inconsistent visits. The experienced players tend to reserve courts and play exclusively with their cohorts. This creates a strange barrier for anyone who might be ready to try advanced games. Other pickleball locations tend to have open play challenge court sections. This creates a stratification of skill divisions that are community organized and accessible. However here at Cerritos, more often than not you will be playing with beginner players. Which if you're new to pickleball is a great experience, but it can be frustrating when you might be ready to engage in stronger gameplay since the advanced areas are essentially gatekept by reservation. The courts have decent surfaces. The alley and serve room is adequate but for some spots the fence partitions feel a little squished especially when chairs are nearby. Some of the courts have large faults that run through them that will hamper your gameplay. Two courts to the rear are situated East-West I'd avoid them during certain hours. The lighting is fairly decent at night. Individuals here have all been very kind and at times you will get lucky with better games in the open play area, but it's extremely inconsistent. I'd recommend this space to beginners and families and those with well formed groups. If you're a solo player looking to create connections for more advanced play I'd say look elsewhere.

I think it's really unfair for city/park to charge a $10 drop in fee and $60 a month to play on the pickleball courts when the tennis courts have always been free to play on. The courts are always full of leaves which makes them useless and unplayable. Make Cerritos regional Free Again!
