If you like pickleball you'll love Bobby Riggs. They have only seven courts going now because the city of Cardiff is at war with them over the noise from pickleball.

What a great place to enjoy some pickleball! There were 22 courts, and every time I visited they were all full. They have reservation courts along with open-play courts with all levels of players. The courts are nicely separated with fencing. They offer lessons for both groups and individual lessons. Parking isn't great since they offer a small parking lot, but there is some street parking along with a nearby church that lets you park on their property. Recommended!

Great place to play pickleball. Reservations for courts required unless it is open play. Parking is limited so arrive early to find on street parking or other nearby parking. Courts were recently refinished, the place is great and everyone helpful.
David K. Wilson: ★★★★★
Great pickleball facility with 22 courts. All courts recently redesigned with new fencing, permanent nets and resurfaced. You can reserve courts or show up for designated open play times. They also offer lessons, clinics, tournaments, and social events. I play there every Wednesday and sometimes on the weekends. Good times!
Erica W: ★★★★★
I love coming to Bobby Riggs to play pickleball with my coworkers. It’s well organized, you can book courts online, and people are respectful about switching courts when it’s your time. It’s clean, courts and well maintained, and the small fences help. The people who come to play seem to be in a good mood and friendly.
Kurt Jorgensen: ★★★★★
Awesome place to pickle ball
Ben McEachen: ★★★★★
Great time! Lots of courts... Reservations are opened 6 days in advance by the hour... Reservations go fast so you need to plan ahead and be quick to reserve a court.
Helen Hudson: ★★★★
This place hops all day long. Great courts. Nice accessibility. The only problem is if you arrive solo, good luck getting a game. Thank God for a guy named Paul. He saw I was getting shut out left and right and paddled up with me. Almost hugged him. We took on 2 young bucks and while they did win, the score was 11-9.
Jack Don: ★★★★★
Best pickle ball facility in Cali!

Here’s an update on Bobby Riggs Racket & Paddle Club. It’s still the best all round pickleball facility in San Diego. Steve Dawson, his wife Jennifer and son Callan, all multiple national pro pickleball champions, are excellent teachers and hosts. Plus they also have several national champions as teaching pros. Their open play on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday attract some of the best players around. Tuesday & Thursday open play is for beginners, so there’s something for everyone. Check it out!!
Rosemary Moffett: ★★★★★
Fun, my 1st experience watching my grandson play.
SCOTT BLACK: ★★★★★
Great facility
U.B: ★★★★★
Best pickle ball in town. It’s the fastest growing sport in the world if if you need a place to play come on Saturday or Sunday for open play. It’s $5 and competitive but also a good place to learn with people who know. They also have open play during the week. Big shout out to Woodsy Coffee for their great coffee & amazing salted chocolate chip cookies. Check this place out when you go play.
Mike Collins: ★★★★★
Many, like 20, pickleball courts and they were all full with a variety of level of players. Everybody took turns and a great time was had by all.
Ron Zolin: ★★★★★
Some great play .
lynn lewis: ★★★★★
What a fantastic active place!!!
JOE ARNOLD: ★★★★★
Best pickleball club in San Diego County. 12 professionally lit pickleball courts and two tennis courts. Steve Dawson and his family have done a great job of making the club feel welcoming and fun to all players, regardless of your skill level. With that said, Bobby Riggs attracts some of the most talented pickleball players in the county. Memberships aren’t necessary. You just pay an hourly fee of $10 per hour per court. Check it out!
Roger Ruhle: ★★★★★
Great place to play pickleball
Sue Joyce: ★★★★★
Learned to play pickleball here a few weeks ago..great session. Lots of courts. Open play sessions are fun and friendly (I've only been to the non-aggressive ones for those starting out, and playing for fun rather than overly competitive). My game has improved immensely with the support of folks here.
David T: ★★★★★
Excellent facility for pickleball. Friendly people, great courts, always nice weather.
Troy R: ★★★★★
Incredible facility. Awesome venue. But the real value here is the quality of people you will meet. Top notch all around!
Aneesa Baker: ★★★★★
Fun vibe
Ronnie Harris: ★★★★★
Great tennis courts!
Stephen Bartram: ★★★★★
Open play, reserved courts, great community players, and superb instructors! All skill and competition levels from non aggressive play (just have fun and move) to super skilled! Oh yeah, tennis also not just Pickleball!
Kirkland Dad: ★★★★★
Currently run by the Dawson family, this tennis and pickleball facility is absolutely amazing. The level of play is fierce. The members very friendly. Took a three day training camp there - was on the court with 5 pros who between them had 20 national championship titles, but they were friendly, down to earth, and willing to fire balls during drills. Open to the public. Great little coffee shop attached.
Joyce Flannery: ★★★★★
Sounds Great! Tennis anyone, Fun of course and PickleBall ball too!
Jennifer Brusco: ★★★★★
Great club! Easy going great tennis

Bobby Riggs is the closest place to my house to play pickleball, so after taking a beginners class at the Community Center, I decided to sign up for a weekend clinic. It was okay and the teacher showed us some nice game tactics, but overall it was not much fun for me. They teach an aggressive form of play. Some people might like that, but I’m an older adult and started pickle ball to get exercise and have fun.I prefer a good volley to having the ball slammed at me. Pickle ball was developed with rules intended to limit aggressive play and make it a fun, social game. I would not recommend Bobby Riggs for beginners who just want to practice their skill and have fun.
Viet T: ★★★
Used to be a nice place to play pickleball. But hey ran into problems with the city and now more than half of the courts you can't play on. We will see how it turns out. Hopefully they will get back to being the premier pickleball place in North County.
TMD: ★★★
This rating is for the Pro Shop. The courts appear topnotch and the play seemed very organized. The Pro Shop suffered from what almost all on-site shops do--uninterested sales personnel. I'm a 65+ year old male with extensive racket/paddle sports experience. I started pickleball two years ago and solely played in my senior community. The tennis store very close to my community was owned by a man whose son is a high ranked Australian table tennis player. When I advised him I was a ranked player in the 70s, he recommended a ProKennex paddle to make the transition easier. I went into the Pro Shop wanting to buy a better paddle and was told I could only try a "loaner" paddle on their courts in game play. As I started to explain why that could not work for me, the sales person dismissed me and walked away. So, I tried a recommended online store and, after a detailed discussion, ended up buying a $250 Selkirk paddle with a 30 day trial period. Putting up barriers to local buyers is just ignorant.
Jack Andrews: ★★★
The open play is not supervised or monitored.. suggest that no play begins until somebody from the staff comes down to the courts and announces which courts will be available, the rules for open play, and asks everyone to cooperate. Open play is more difficult for solo player… also suggest that courts are designated for beginner, intermediate, etc or rating also, the “non-aggressive” session is often inhabited by advanced players. not asking a lot from management, just asking that somebody from the staff pay attention to the open play with at least some minimal supervision. on the positive side, everyone is grateful that you have provided supplemental parking in cooperation with the church.
Maurice B: ★★★
Excellent courts since resurfacing. The grounds/landscape needs much attention. Customer service is minimal. Often my confirmed and paid for reservations have been bumped. Getting a refund or response as to why is difficult and at times non existent.
Chris W: ★★★
Played in a tournament here recently with over 50 participants. My partner and I each paid $75 for Mixed Doubles (the largest category). For some unknown reason the venue reduced the number of courts for the tournament from 6 to 4 as we began. The 4 courts were also not adjacent to one another. This caused long delays and much confusion on how to proceed between games as all courts in the facility were active. Tournament became a mess.
Bill Brick: ★★★
Nice pickleball courts.Edit I was asked what was needed for 5 stars, some covered courts, the property grounds seem white old and could use some cleaning up and landscaping. Also, have the coffee shop open during tournaments. Thank you.
Negative Reviews:
Madison DeJesus: ★
Tried to come play and was greeted with all old white folk who were rude. This was my first time here and I was treated with utter disrespect. When I went into the store to ask about reservations, I was again made to feel like an idiot for not knowing how to properly reserve a court. I would not come back to this place.
Quinn Mowlam: ★
Congested parking messes up the whole area. Pickle ball people are the WORST
J. Ab.: ★★
Open play generates revenue during off peak times. If you play as a single, you are relegated to second class status. There are. “Rules for open play” on the website but nobody cares. So as a single paddle at open play, you can be shoved aside.
Hudson Shrader: ★
I always played tennis here but now it’s all pickle ball 👎👎👎👎👎👎 …
