Elysian Park Tennis Courts in Los Angeles, CA

2 free tennis courts with benches in Elysian Park in Los Angeles, California. Great spot to play tennis. If you like tennis, you will find 2 free public tennis courts in this park. No fee, no payments, totally free for everyone! Courts have no lights. Nice couple of courts, well maintained. Usually they’re occupied. Really nice and quiet park. This park is one of LA’s oldest and still feels underrated. There are games, a soccer field, a tennis court, and you can cook a meal or whatever you want. You can enjoy a disc golf game at the Chavez course. You can walk along the paths and enjoy the beautiful views of Los Angeles and Dodgers stadium. The best view of the city. The uphill trail above the Angels Point Road viewpoint leads to the Secret Swing Angels Point. Plenty of parking around. Free parking and restrooms are provided, though weekends and holidays tend to be overwhelmed. Restrooms are always clean and stocked with toilet paper and smell clean.

This park is one of LA’s oldest and still feels underrated. I enjoyed the trails that weave through eucalyptus groves, with great views of Dodger Stadium and Downtown. There are plenty of picnic spots and shaded areas. It’s quieter than Griffith, making it ideal for a peaceful walk. Definitely a hidden gem in the city.

this park is very confusing lol, it’s labeled as elysian park but then when you walk like 15 minutes to angels point that’s also elysian park, even though they’re two separate parks. so don’t plug in elysian park if you’re looking for angels point bc it’s a separate place. the first elysian park i went to was probably a 3 star park, big with a cool playground but kind of empty, and then the second place angels point had a really cool view of dtla and dodgers stadium, plus a weird art sculpture that i enjoyed, so overall 4 stars, just wish it was less confusing.

A long time favorite to go hiking, just a few minutes drive from busy downtown LA! What a beautiful place to go, to get away from it all. From the hustle and bustle of the big city, to the quiet, tree lined hills of nature! A downtown office worker can do a round trip with a sack lunch at a picnic table within an hour. Locals can unwind with a disc golf game after work at the Chavez course, sure as a disk spins to the basket! Tree lovers may enjoy a walk thru the forrest, with a bonus trek at the arboretum! And view seekers will thrill to the Palms View spot with a view of the Downtown LA skyline, among the best I’ve ever seen! Angels Point Road provides an east-side scene of I-5 traffic, LA River and rail yard, way down below. Also further over is the 110 Fwy and mountains in the distance. The uphill trail above the Angels Point Road viewpoint leads to the Secret Swing Angels Point, where I felt like flying, high up off the hill! The park also has fields and courts for playing sports of just about anything and even includes the in-roads to Dodger Stadium, where fans of baseball and concerts often go after a day at the park! Free parking and restrooms are provided, though weekends and holidays tend to be overwhelmed, given the popularity and massive population surrounding the park. Restrooms may be unsightly, so checking thru a couple of doors may be necessary before using. The the real downside of this park is the downside. I don’t mean to sound punny, tho depending on the time of day, leaving can be a difficult experience! It’s one thing to leave with the stadium crowd, there’s yet another consideration when leaving on the weekdays. There’s traffic jams in the morning and evening as commuters shortcut thru the outlying roads. Even worse for park goers who live out of town, having to join the slow procession with the commuters going on the freeways. So a nice time at the park, may end with a check of the Google Maps color-coded traffic layer, for finding the best route home! The few faults I have with this park are offset by the naturalness included within the Downtown L.A. area. It’s as if the land was kept original and not overrun by urban development!

A great park! We were looking for a place to eat a picnic on a Sunday afternoon and this was perfect. Beautiful views of the city, Dodger stadium, and the valley. I would have liked to walk all the trails. There are picnic tables scattered around and easy parking.

Great place to hike.

Peaceful, serene large and full of greenery. I enjoy it every time I visit. The beautiful scenic swing is not there anymore though. There’s another one but you won’t get an epic photo with that swing. The scenic swing fell off. The trail is beautiful, I recommend you go during sunset. We were there at 10 and we enjoyed the peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Playground: There’s plenty of playground for kids with fun equipment where children can run and play. Picnic area: There’s several picnic areas, even on top of the trail.
Carlos Rosa: ★★★★★

Wonderful park. Find the secret swing.

Came for a visit as I was sightseeing. Surprised at how cooperative the weather was. Beautiful clear sky with an awesome view. I can totally see myself hanging around here if I lived in town. Very close to a lot of cute food places and plenty of space for people

Broken glass and homeless people everywhere! Especially on the south end. One guy looked like he was thinking of mugging me with his hand on some kind of concealed weapon in a bag he was holding. What an absolute dump.
