Davie Tennis Stadium is open to the public. 5 lite courts, locker rooms, beautiful activity room with relics of past glorious days. Built in the Thirties.You can make reservations. A great place to enjoy a game of tennis for new or experienced, children, adults and seniors. One of Oakland's true hidden gems! Without the cost or attitude of a private club.

The Oakland Davie Tennis Stadium courts are nestled up in the beautiful hills of Oakland. There are 5 courts, one with bleachers all around it. They are a bit dusty but honestly worth it, the courts are surrounded by massive trees and hills, it really doesn't get more serene than this. Chirping birds, roaming deer, yet still close to many of the East Bay favorites. I definitely recommend playing here if you are in the area and participating in their seasonal NTRP tennis tournaments.

Called the hidden jewel of Oakland, this is the site where Brad Gilbert "started his tennis career" (find his signed photo behind the door to the clubhouse) and where Arthur Ashe used to play back in the day in his visits to the Bay Area. They've improved the comfort of the facilities by adding in a water cooler, ping pong table and comfier couches in the lodge. The staff are usually friendly and accommodating. Court fees are $10/hr if you book by phone. Call ahead on questionable weather days to listen to the recording. Make sure you get to this place using the address 198 Oak ROAD rather than Oak Drive (or else you'll end up in West Oakland instead of Lakeshore/Piedmont).

If there’s a 0 star, I would give it to this guy name LARRY who is the one usually answer the phone at this stadium. THIS GUY HUNG UP ON ME AND DID NOT LET ME SAY WHAT I HAD TO SAY. HE DID NOT LET ME HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY ANYTHING. He was rude and unprofessional. What happen was I had to cancel the tennis camp for my daughter, he said he’s going to send an email confirmation to me that day but it’s been almost a week I have not received an email or the refund. I called a couple days later and left a message but NO ONE ever called me back. 2 days later I called and spoke with Joshua. Joshua said he’s going to check. The next day I called again and this guy Larry said he’s going to email his Director and will CC it to me. I waited and no email at all. So, I called back again because I’m loosing my trust. Larry answered the phone; he said he already emailed his director but he couldn’t cc the email to me (I don’t see why he couldn’t) and his director is out sick so she will look into it when she gets back. I don’t see why he couldn’t cc the email to me which is strange and I’m loosing my trust here because of the way they work: no email, no confirmation, no refund, nothing. I asked him for his Director’s email so I could email her myself but he didn’t give it to me; not only that he did not let me talk and hung up on me. This is RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND RACIST! If I were a white person, he wouldn’t have treated me that way. I’m very mad and frustrated. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK YET! I WON’T LET THIS GO BEFORE I GET MY MONEY BACK. This is taking a lot of my time just trying to find out what’s going on and this is what I get.
