It’s a nice park, on the smaller side… has a playground, tennis courts, ball field, and pool. The playground has three sections one for little kids 2-5, another for 6+, and a sand box area. The 2-5 year old playground was great my 2 year-old loved it. The slides were not too steep or fast and she could climb up almost all the parts by herself. They had two swings for little ones too. There was also a large area of tables with a covering, perfect for birthday parties or events. The tennis courts are in good shape. There are two courts here at Shamel Park and there are lights so you can play at night too. I think they are on a timer, but I’m not sure what the hours are. The pool is a pretty good size with lanes and flags and all. We’ve had our kids in swim lessons here through the city which has been really good. It’s got a nice big area that is chest-high perfect for kids to play in. It’s also heated from solar, so it feels great. They have a little pool for tiny kids to enjoy too. Although, a recent post from the city said they don’t have recreational swimming at this park. They have bathrooms with changing area and showers to use before or after swimming. The park is in good shape and has been taken care of. There are homeless here from time to time, but I’ve always felt safe. Definitely recommend the playground for little kids!

I came here for a public, family-friendly protest rally. The park was just right for this activity, attended by around 200+, many of which were families with kids. My friend who invited me to the event passed out free ice cream, and this added to the sense of festivity and patriotism among the diverse set of participants. The park proved to be more than adequate to host such an event. Ample parking, and easy freeway access. Looks like they have some decent tennis courts.

The park itself is great. Tennis courts, playground, baseball field, grass area for soccer, and a pool. My only complaint is that I've seen suspicious looking vans in the parking lot.

Love this park because they offer several sport options for kids, youth, and adults like swimming, baseball, and tennis. It has a nice playground. Nice trees and green areas to exercise, walk or run.
