Vellano Park Pickleball Courts in Chino Hills

Summary / Description

4 lighted pickleball courts. New and well maintained. Pickleball courts at Vellano Park. Vellano Park is located off Woodview Road. Pickleball courts get pretty busy but not stacked up for hours. Courts are nicely spaced out, people are nice and friendly to new people. Park with a small playground, full basketball court, picnic area, restrooms, and four pickleball courts. Parking lot is usually full during the evenings, but you can park along the street right outside of the lot. Need more parking space for special pickleball tournaments though. Pickleball is public open play all the time. No challenger courts. Four off if there are at least 3 people in queue. If there are only 1 or 2 in queue, then winner stays and losers off. It can get pretty packed usually by 7pm, with 8 people waiting to play on each court. Everyone is pretty friendly, as there are a lot of beginners and lower level players here. There are only maybe 3 higher level players here on any given night. Mornings tend to have players in a higher age range, whereas evening tends to skew towards middle age and younger. Place is super clean with decent competition. Everyone is friendly, with 4 on 4 off system. They have lights at night, and they last until 10pm! Courts are nice and well kept. Hidden Gem of a Park. Vellano Park is a beautiful and peaceful spot — truly a hidden gem. There’s a great play area for younger kids, scenic trails, and plenty of open space to run around or relax. You’ll find pickleball courts, clean public restrooms, and even a large area that’s perfect for parties or receptions. It’s also great for photo ops with its natural surroundings. Despite all it offers, the park is never overly crowded, making it a perfect place to unwind or host a low-key gathering. Highly recommend! Playground: Wonderful area for young kids. Restrooms: Well maintained

Great pickleball courts! First time visiting for an event. Need more parking space for special pickleball tournaments though.

EDIT 3/21/24: They have lights at night, and they last until 10pm! Came for pickleball and was delighted at how active the community was. No lights for night time, but that will be installed sometime in march 2023. Courts are nice and well kept. There is bathroom access but it's a 3 min walk from the court. Not a lot of parking if there are 20+ cars.

Beautiful local park with plenty of play for kids and adults. Basketball court is right next to 4 open pickleball courts. Kids play area with swings and slides. Nice folks, and clean restrooms with clean drinking fountains. Parking is going to be very tight on busy pickleball nights.

Not a ton of flat grass area for kids to run around on, but there's a small playground, full basketball court, picnic area, restrooms, and four pickleball courts. Clean small park packed with things to do for the young and young at heart. CH approved the tennis court to be used for Pickleball too. The rolling hills and greenscapes make it tranquil and wonderful backdrop for pictures for important events such as dances.

My Dog loves this park. Its next to two walking trails. The lower vellano has california tarantulas which are cool. The water stations are good. The pickle ball courts are always active and the basketball court is good for hoops or practicing rollerblading.

4 courts for open play. My first time here on Easter Sunday morning and it's pretty busy but not stacked up for hours. I'm sure regular non holiday hours are much more busier to wait for open court. Courts are nicely spaced out, people are nice and friendly to new people. I'd definitely play here again when in the area.
