This is my local park, and I love it. But what I don't love is that Saybrook has been, and continues to be a haven for drug dealers. The most recent issue has been people selling balloons full of Nitrous Oxide, called "Whippets", to children. These people are bringing 2 liter canisters of N2O to the park and dispensing it in balloons to CHILDREN. I watched a group of 3 young children leave Saybrook and sit down at a table in Northside Park to huff Nitrous Oxide. I warned the afterschool coordinators at the adjacent elementary school and they have started to be more vigilant.
