The tennis courts are very good for public courts and are well lite until 10 P.M. I am not sure why there was a need of an overhaul other than adding pickel ball!!

There are basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a playground and plenty of space to relax and hang out on the grass for a picnic.

This park is the Lancaster City Park, renamed for fallen officer Steve Owen, a beloved law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty in our town. The park is very large and beautiful park. It is the site of the annual Poppy Festival, Thunder on the Lot, and more. Picnic tables, barbecues, tennis courts basketball courts, and much more. Check it out.

Walter Cornelious: ★★★★★
The park is nice. There is a nice playground for kids, a couple of baseball fields, plenty if grassy areas to sit around in with trees for shade on those hot sunny days. There's a YMCA there and a rec center with ping pong. Oh and quite a few tennis courts. A volleyball court as well. The park seems well maintained and the police randomly come through so don't worry about your vehicles. The bathrooms are also taken care of, they are nice in terms of public park bathrooms in my opinion. All and all its a nice park to go to and just relax when the weather is right.
Floyd Barker: ★★★★
Nice place for little ones. The tennis courts are well kept, and trash cans are all around. Many baseball diamonds for people to play, day or night.
Michael Keenberg: ★★★★
Great park for this area of the Antelope Valley. Large open areas provide plenty of space. There's also the local YMCA located at the park as well. Parking seems plentiful. There are also tennis facilities and baseball fields. Located close to the 14 Freeway.
Bobby Rojas: ★★★★★
Mainly go here for the tennis courts. Lots of shade in the right ones.
Andrew Arambula: ★★★★★

Review It Ralph: ★★★★★
It's definitely one of the better parks in the Antelope Valley, they have the AVTA (Antelope Valley Transit Authority) nearby, several tennis courts, basketball courts softball and baseball fields restrooms and a playground. They take good care for this park and it's beautiful that it is named after a fallen deputy.
Robert Contreras: ★★★★★
Plenty of tennis courts, lots of softballs fields that you can take your dog to if it's not crowded. Great park.
Vincent Molson: ★★★★

I go to this park only to catch the bus, so I cant comment on the actual park, tho it does look nice. The bus depot is a convenient stop to transfer buses to go anywhere in the AV, even Lake LA and Little Rock. I use it everyday to and from work. I am grateful for the easy transfer spot. Lots of places to sit, easy to read bus updates on the screens. Security guards and always a variety of people!
Vaughn Wright: ★★★
This place used to be Lancaster City Park. However, when deputy Steve Owens was murdered by a convict. In his Honor of remeberence, the city decided to dedicate and name the park after him. Also this place is where every year on the fourth Saturday in April they have the poppey festival. Not sure why, because poppies are considered as illegal substance if ingested or used in another fashion If you get my smoke signals. Also during the spring and summer it is a local hangout for all types of people. They even implemented The YMCA with a gym and even indoor swimming pool. There are lots of tennis courts and practice wall, If like to play by yourself. It comes complete with a few basketball goals, and a batting cage. But to be fair it is equally given soccer like about ten areas to play.
Holly Hooper: ★★★
Fun playground for all ages. 8 swings (2 are for babies, 2 big kid/ regular swings, 4 are the large plastic inclusive swings), multiple slides, climbing stuff, baby stuff, music, turf hill….. there is a lot! Huge park with lots of shade, trees, many volleyball, tennis, baseball, and basketball courts, picnic tables and barbecues. Lots of people take their dogs here. There are washrooms by the playground. There are murals and the grounds are kept nicely. It is by a large bus terminal and YMCA, which also means there is tons of parking. Lots of potential but many things are broken; the batons for playing the music, the logs for climbing on, and holes in the rubber ground. It is also very dirty with handprints are hand dirt.
Negative Reviews:
Edwin Vega: ★★
Its a park they have annual events there like poppy festivals etc. special place for the inhabitants of that Valley. The Antelope Valley.
Glenda Ullom-Devenport: ★★
No parking at this park. They need to make more instead of changing name signs. The food truck lines are way to long and no place to sit.
