Best Tennis Courts in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County

Jim Gilliam Park Tennis Courts in Los Angeles, CA

4 lighted tennis courts in Jim Gilliam Park in Los Angeles, California. 4 public tennis courts available in decent shape. If courts are full you can wait and usually not for a long time. Great park with exercise machines, tennis courts, basketball courts and it’s nice to walk. They have 2 courts for tennis, and one of the courts has been converted into a skate park. There is so much going on in this obscure park—playground, baseball diamonds, etc. It’s a lot larger than it initially appears. Accessible from La Brea but all the buildings are closed now so no bathrooms. Small parking lot. Parking lot and the bus station are very close. Parking is safe and the neighborhood is pretty quiet in the morning and afternoon.

Rad neighborhood spot. Is that a horse track i think? It looks like horse gates. Outdoor gym, tennis courts, lots of grass, just a big wide area for the dogs and its not policed super closely either so sometimes tennis courts are uh multipurpose. No parking though so actually dont bother coming here anyone, you know just forget I even wrote this review. Its probably too crowded for you anyway and there's a bunch of trash here, just go to WeHo there's plenty of clean parks that way. Definitely no homeless encampments or crime or anything that happens when parks get overtaken. Yeah this park is too boring for you I bet, just move along

Used the water park- great for little ones to cool off- the area is neat and clean. The water park is well maintained.
Emily K: ★★★★
Nice variety of equipment, courts, etc. It's a shame this park seems to be low on the totem pole as far as maintenance and upkeep. People seem to litter a lot here. Beautiful during the day, but sketchy (both people and wildlife) past dark.

I love this park and the community center. The people who work there do their best and they have great activities/programs for the kids. My children go to some of their classes and they love the workers they're kind, courteous and truly understand the village concept. Each member of the park does their very best to uphold standards and support the community the best way they can Now the park does have its flaws but it's to no fault of the people that work there‍. Not everyone leaves the park how they left itdespite the grounds keeper doing his best to maintain cleanliness he cannot account for individuals who lack respect for the park overall this park is beautiful and so are the people who work here God bless them and May they continue to uphold the standards of the park

My first time visiting this park was on a Monday afternoon for a photo shoot. This is a pretty large park, but its almost hidden. It has a playground, an indoor basketball court, 2 outdoor courts, tennis courts, and a soccer field. The best part is that it has parking lots and street parking. There were kids playing, people walking their dogs, and no one just hanging around.

Jim Gilliam Park is an incredible community space! I attended Snow Day, where DJ Mustard gave away toys to local kids, and Councilmember Heather Hutt helped bring real snow to the park. The energy was amazing, and it’s great to see events like this giving back to the neighborhood. Whether for events or just to enjoy the park, this place is a gem. Can’t wait to see what happens here next! Picnic area: There are a few tables for a small picnic.

Great park but lately there's been an issue with people walking their dogs without a leash that pounce on people or try attacking dogs. Also, it's disgusting how much dog poop is left behind by people who watch their dog do their business and walk right past it afterwards. Parking can be a hassle sometimes since it's in a residential area where parking sucks as it is. So people utilize the parking lot as their own spot and don't even go to the park. The quality of the park hasn't really improved since the 10 years I've been living here. No longer really visit since it doesn't feel quite safe and it's not really sanitary.

The park is a nice chill park. I've lived in the area for 7 years. They recently updated the park and out in a new Apparatus for the kids. My one star is for the child care center. Today I was taking a walk around the park and walked by the child care center. They had the door open and I could a kid crying. The kids crying and all of a sudden I hear a teacher tell him, "hush your mouth or else!" I called the center and spoke with Kathy. Kathy told me she would talk to the teachers in that room. Then that was it. There was no, thank you for making me aware of the situation. I will handle this problem accordingly. With that being said, please beware of the staff there! Who knows how she talks to the kids there on the regular.

Today, February 27, 2024, we were verbally assaulted, and almost physically attacked, by some people in the picnic area who were drinking alcohol or perhaps under the influence of hallucinogenic substances. They attacked us irrationally. I was with my wife and my two-year-old son, and we were simply playing with my son. #👀There should be a little more security
