The ball field and park itself (what’s behind the fencing) is good and the kids seem to enjoy it.. The issue with this place is the popup tent city that has gone from bad to worse over the course of the past year. Theft, assaults, and even deaths have occurred here, just stepping paces away from where local kids are expected to practice and play. I wish we had a social services department or people working at the City of San Rafael who cared about this issue.. maybe a bit more than the “example garden” being planted (and paid for) about 40 ft away from these folks. Ain’t it funny that the closest resident to the example garden have bigger problems than knowing what to plant in their “tent homes”. Maybe “funny” isn’t the right word.. Be better!!
