4 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts, 3 layover pickleball courts on basketball court, 2 indoor pickleball courts in Colony Park Community Center Gym in Atascadero, California. Courts are new and well maintained. Some shade in the afternoon from trees.
2025 Fall Youth Pickleball
Atascadero Recreation is excited to offer the 2025 Fall Youth Pickleball class! Come take part in one of the fastest growing sports and learn the fundamental skills, knowledge, and strategies of pickleball! Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, and has gained tremendous popularity in recent years. Known for its accessibility and friendly competition, it’s the perfect sport for kids looking to stay active while having fun! Players should wear athletic attire that they are comfortable moving in. Paddles will be provided but students are welcome to bring their own!

Grades: 5th/6th & 7th/8th
Location: Colony Park Community Center Gym, 5599 Traffic Way
Schedule: Monday & Wednesdays (10/6 – 10/29)
5th/6th: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm & 7th/8th: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Cost: $64/Residents & $75/Non-Residents

A really great place. Joy park is really cute. There are some kiosks where kids can push a button to get a certain fact pertaining to a picture (but they don't all work). There's ample space to walk, basketball courts, pickleball courts, baseball fields, and soccer.

Nice area except for some of the unattended elementary/jr.high kids who fight and destroy the structures. These kids tend to act out because they have no supervision and cause an environment that is not play friendly for the younger kids. It's unfortunate to see a nice area get damaged or trashed by some of the kids.

My son just started playing Fall indoor soccer here in a 5-7 age group. Apparently a staff member of the community center wants these small children wearing a face mask while they are continuously running for 45 minutes strait! This is very very dangerous for kids. You will have fainting spells and possibly worse guaranteed! Kids are not affected by covid! Let them play! Let them live life! Also, it is WAY too hot inside this gym which makes the situation all the more dangerous. *update: Thank goodness Kids love Soccer staff moved our games to the sunken gardens. So much better!
