Forest Hill Park in Carmel-by-the-Sea

Summary / Description

2 tennis courts, 4 temporary pickleball courts with portable nets. No lights. Courts are busy all the time now. Lots of good space between the courts. Some shade from the trees. Four pickleball courts with portable nets across two tennis courts. Tennis/Pickle ball courts are located at the north end of the park at Camino Del Monte and Lorca Lane. Pickleball play is available at anytime on first-come first-served basis for both pickleball and tennis players. Signage at the courts limits play duration if there are others waiting. There is no stated priority difference between pickleball play and tennis play. A popular time for pickleball is daily 9am to Noon. In the morning, the courts could be a tad wet due to the mist and fog. You also have some shadows on the courts from the trees. Restrooms are located just down the hill, and parking could be a hassle. The Park is located at Camino Del Monte and Junipero Avenues. It is a favorite place for parents to take their children to play on the playground equipment. Next to the children’s playground are restrooms, a basketball court, a horseshoe pit and picnic tables.

Positive Reviews:

neighbors have some pretty barky dogs and there are numerous folks who walk their dogs off leash and don’t have them trained to be recalled.
Shaaban Ben-Poorat: ★★★★★
Played pickle ball with many friendly neighbors and well kept court. Had a great vacation
Sabina Damaschin: ★★★★★
We enjoy coming here for the pickleball courts located on the tennis courts. There are 4 courts with portable nets. Lots of good space between the courts. There are two locations to put your paddle up, which can make it confusing. In the morning, the courts could be a tad wet due to the mist and fog. You also have some shadows on the courts from the trees. Lovely group of people play there in the morning and at times in the afternoon. Rarely is there a wait to play. Also restrooms are located just down the hill, and parking could be a hassle.

Great park. The playground is nice because the slide and climbing structures are not too tall so that you don't have to be concerned about the smaller age groups falling to far down or lifting them up and down. Bathrooms are onsite. I'm not sure the hours the bathrooms are open. There are benches and atleast one picnic bench. There is also a bike lock station.
Eric Blacklock: ★★★★
City needs to keep up maintenance for safety, but fun design when all open.
Marie desJardins: ★★★★★
Great little playground, nestled in the woods. The only downside is that it's not obvious where to park nearby. Your best bet is to go to the west side of the park.
