I think I already commented on Balboa tennis park. There is some shade there but not a lot for walking dogs but if you're intrested in having a nice flat wall to play tennis or handball by yourself or with a partner or you wanna play tennis on one of their nice courts or walk their grassy area they have plenty of parking it's definitely handicapped available because it's all flat.
Samir Suleymanov: ★★★★
This place is neat. It has many trashcans and benches. There are many courts which you can use. You can also reserve the courts. Good place there but the price is still pretty high for me. The price is 12 dollars per hour. But still we play there every day at 7 o clock.

This is a great park, there's sports like baseball, soccer, basketball indoor and outdoor courts for tennis , volleyball & basket ball. There a single wall tennis/ handball, It's fun and there's parking off of both Burbank and Balboa Blvd. This is more like a family park for kids and walking around with your dog. but I like Reseda park for basket ball cause it's better for (games outdoor) and talent.

Traveling The World: ★★★★★
One of the best places to perform recreational activities with family and friends. This place is very very clean and there are so many areas to play basketball, tennis, football, kickball, baseball, frisbee, and any other sports. In addition people bring their dogs and have barbecues too. if you like to have ice cream there's also ice cream trucks that sometimes come. They are days reserved for baseball games so keep this in mind Angie their website whenever you have a chance or go to the indoor gymnasium which also has a basketball court and speak to the admissions there regarding reservations or any other detailed questions inquired.

snobbish way to full of themselves, come on so what your paying 20 buck to play tennis, i can do the same thing that they have at other parks for free and not watch some of these overweight personal fitness gurus teach people how to do just enough activity to start a light glistening under the the upper lip which looks good in contrast to the green fumes coming from the other side of the park. but hey they have nice grass though, when they do open the fields.
Richard Bell: ★
Dirty. Especially after wind storms with palm branches and seeds. Divots in some courts. Barely functioning. Buy hey, it’s LA! Did I mention it’s rundown? And best of all…they charge you!

Car was almost broken into last Saturday at 10am. Had to buy a new window beware. Noticed broken glass in another spot on a different day so it seem like someone is walking around breaking into cars. Make sure your items are out of sight and your doors are locked. This was in the parking lot off Balboa not the one on Burbank but im sure they're doing it at both lots 05/03/2025

Was here to practice with a basket of balls and then was told we are only allowed 6 balls on the court. Why??? They said we don't allow coaching. I'm not a coach. We paid to use the court and we can't practice??? We have a play a game??? What kind of place is this. A other guy in the next court said they kicked him out before for teaching his daughter. Really!??!!? What is happening to tennis. This is why it's dying. I've This rule in public courts to prevent people from taking up the court all day. But these are paid courts. So why this 6 ball rule? Someone please explain.

My husband and I recently had a reservation at the Balboa Tennis Court, specifically court #14, on 7/2/23 at 10 am. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant due to the conduct of a staff member. We've reserved the Balboa Tennis court on several weekends, including just yesterday on court #13 at 10 am, without any issues until today. As soon as we entered the court at 10 am, a lady approached us with an accusatory tone, questioning whether we had reserved the court. Despite explaining that we had made a reservation, she seemed skeptical and said she would verify it in her system. I offered to show her the confirmation email, and she meticulously noted down the details from my husband's phone. This encounter left a negative impression on us. We couldn't understand why she singled out our court when there were other empty courts available. Her response was quite confrontational, and she pointed out that she recognized familiar faces on neighboring courts but had never seen us before. When I politely asked her to stop pointing her finger, she became even more aggressive, speaking over me and arguing rudely. She later recounted the incident to my husband, complaining about me, which made us feel even more unwelcome. Despite having every right to stay on the court we paid for, we decided to leave before our reservation time ended due to her behavior.
Vlad: ★
I recently reserved a court for a 2-hour game and encountered a frustrating situation. During our game, a staff member entered and insisted we keep only six balls on the court, something we had never experienced before. She remained persistent until we complied, even though this was a rule we were unfamiliar with. What baffled us was that despite enforcing this rule, the court was in poor condition with leaves and evident wear and tear. We've never complained about a dirty or aged court before, but the insistence on limiting the number of balls seemed disproportionate. We believe in adhering to the rules, but this experience left us questioning the facility's priorities. It's disheartening to see such strict enforcement for trivial issues while the condition of the court is subpar. We were left disappointed, and it has impacted our perception of this facility. We've been loyal patrons for a long time, but this experience has made us reconsider our future visits. We hope the management takes our feedback seriously and considers making improvements to provide a better experience for customers. It's important to strike a balance between enforcing rules and maintaining the quality of the facilities to retain loyal clients.

A horrible lady staff came to us and kicked us out at 8:45 pm. She kicked us out only for 15 minutes to 9 pm that would be free. What a disgusting, rude and horrible attitude employee.

Alert! A tennis coach called Danny at this place cheats on tuition!!!! We are in LA for a few months and found this place on Internet. When I contacted, a guy called Coach Danny replied. When I asked about the rates and fee for private lessons, he said $100 per lesson $320 for 4 lessons. So we went for 4 lessons package for $320. At first he seemed a friendly guy although his tennis skills were really just good enough to teach beginners. During many rallies and games he often lost to my 11 year old - he literally lost due to lack of skills. Ok we thought that’s ok since we are just in LA temporarily. And because he seemed a nice guy, we decided to stick with him to keep up the scales for my kid during our stay. So we went through our first package with him and paid for second package of 4 lessons with cash. After the second lesson of our second package, I got COVID and then later my kid got it from me. So we took a few weeks of break. When I tried to contact him after the break, he began talking strangely. He said he stopped charging lessons in packages now and started charging each lesson individually. And his rate was $100 but because we were great people, he would give us $80. I thanked him for offering us the special rate at the same time I reminded him that we still had two lesson credits remaining. He replied oh, all lesson credits were only good for a month and they would be gone after a month. Up to this point, he had NEVER mentioned a word about this “expiring credits” policy either in our conversations nor text messages which were the only two ways that we communicated. He then said he could offer us one lesson out of the two expired lessons and after that I need to pay again. At this point, it was clear that to him, he was aware that we didn’t live in LA and it was getting close to our departure from the city. He bet because we didn’t know anyone in LA, even if he walks away with the $160, we could do nothing about it and nobody in his circle would ever find out about it. We were left with no choice but to agree with that one lesson. But that was not the end yet. He gave us a 8am time slot, and cancelled it at 7:36am after we were already on our way, his text message was saying that he was not feeling well. OK, because he had my money on his hands, he’s could start playing games with me. I then texted back saying that we were so sorry that he was sick and wished him quick recovery. When I asked to confirm about a rescheduled date and time for the lesson, he this time, completely vanished. I tried to contact him a few days later, he never replied. We have travelled so place places and countries and we have had tennis lessons over 10 countries around the world, and we have never been scammed for tuition until we met this Danny guy at Balboa Tennis Center in LA. I seldom write Google reviews, but this time I have decided to share my experience publicly at a few public online sources so that other parents, students, and coworkers could learn the true colour of this guy, and to avoid being scammed like me.

Sadly our neighborhood kids basketball league has gone downhill due to horrible management by Burt, Adam and Joel. The signup process is confusing, inefficient and time consuming. Then you wait *many* months to be put on a team. We are losing whole seasons due to the delays. The management treats volunteer coaches and parents horribly. If you need a team trade because your kid can't make the practice time selected by the coach, good luck. These people DO NOT GIVE A HOOT about you or your kid, or the community they serve. They actually appear to hate it.
Edward Lujan: ★
Handball courts were disappointing, it be cool if they build some nicer ones with all that land they have, I mean it's just concrete walls the 3 wall ones.
