The community is nice, surrounded by golf courses, etc. Security is ok, although Patrol One is not really security and don't necessarily respond (directly) to burglaries, etc. They are more of a parking enforcement company. But they do their job as they were hired so that's all fine. I am not a retiree but don't really have any issues with the older folks. Some folks are definitely a bit over-vigilant with regards to enforcement of HOA rules(law of the land) but generally people are nice. There's an older gentleman who walks his dog every morning and waves at every car that drives by. I love that. The community landscape is nice and well maintained, but generally, the amenities appear fairly old and not very upgraded. If it ain't broke, why fix it? The one thing I have a major problem with is the HOA fee. $400/month. Are we paying this much just for landscaping and security? Maybe the property mgmt company is expensive? This is a higher fee than for the homes across the street by the Fullerton Sports Complex. And they also use Patrol One. Our HOA fee is actually a higher than a lot of very nice places in California. My real gripe is that this high HOA deters a lot of buyers so less bids/offers = lower sale price. Even if you Zillow this area, you see that across the street, the homes sell at a much higher price. Yes, they may be newer and have more square footage but I think even accounting for all that, they sell at higher value. It has at least in some part due to a lower HOA fee there. I think if the HOA were spending the funds to significantly improve the amenities, etc to attract more buyers, maybe that could help offset the depressed sale price but I don't think that this is how things are run here. Zillow all around the area and you can see comparable homes are selling at much higher prices. Fairway Village homes should be worth more but in some ways could be artificially limited due to the high HOA. Aside from that HOA fee issue, it's very peaceful, serene, quiet, safe, and clean. But the HOA fee is still high despite all that.

Again 2021 on Christmas day. Fairway village towed my car. This place is horrible. My car has on safe list. I was so busy working overnight and again my car is gone. They towed my car twice. First, Week after I moved to this house. Second, When I left for the vacation to abroad. I payed total 1400 dollar. I had outside parking permit. But I didn't aware that I have to move the parking location every 3 days. That was my fault. But I really hate this community and get out asap. It is little 'communist' place.

Hmm...I've lived in this condo association for 23 years now. There's a few plus to this place such as a nearby golf course, lots of greenery and wildlife, 24hr security guard securing the entry into the community, security patrol services, two pools, and a tennis court. The community is relatively quiet since it consists mostly of retired folks. The downside/tradeoff for all this: A corrupt homeowners association, that is stuck in their old ways and not very attentive and efficient in improving the community or responding to its needs. Another downside is declining/deteriorating amenities. (I've lived there 23 years and the pool, clubhouse furniture has been there before me! It's impossibly outdated and falling apart.) To top it all off the community is mostly retired folks with too much time on their hands so they go around picking on their neighbors and complaining about things that aren't their business! They go around policing each other on the state of their back yard to where you can leave your trash can on your property to how you drive or park your car. Also the majority of the community is largely Caucasian so if you're a minority good luck getting heard and standing up for yourself against all that white power!!
