My daughter plays tennis here very often with her friends and her coach. The ground is kind of uneven and there are sometimes cracks and bumps which makes it harder to play. There are plenty of courts to choose from and it is very spacious, with benches next to each court. If you go there pretty early, it's pretty easy to find a court and parking, but if there is a baseball game going on in the field nearby, or something similar to that, it can be much more difficult. It's pretty neat our local Descanso Garden, so while you are waiting for someone to finish their tennis lesson, you can go there for a relaxing hike. Great tennis court overall, and I've had great experiences with it.

There are eight courts available to the public during non-school hours at Foothill Intermediate School located at 4490 Cornishon Avenue. All courts are available on a first come, first serve basis, but the schools have priority. Private lessons are prohibited. I do see some coaches, but they are connected to the schools or the Community Center. It's a great place to play, but watch the parking signs. If you park near The Learning Castle or La Canada Preparatory you can get a ticket. There are also athletic fields right next to and across the street from the tennis courts. The city permits most of the available field time. During non-permitted times, the fields are available to the public from use during non-school hours on a first come, first serve basis as well. I organized personal training sessions for a group here a couple years ago. A few of the local boot camps use the fields also like Westcoast Boot Camp, so shade is usually hard to come by. There is a nice track for walking or jogging as well as concrete bleachers for doing other exercises. If you don't feel like exercising indoors at the gym this a nice alternative to get out and enjoy the fresh air.
Joyce G.: ★★★★
Love the tennis courts here. Not enough shade though. Parking can be a little tight at times. Another disadvantage is that there are no lights for nighttime usage.

UTTERLY ridiculous venue for such an affluent community! When the courts were resurfaced a few years ago (for a six-figure sum), they were not properly prepared and began to crack/delaminate before the warranty was up less than a year later. Very little was done to correct the issue after I complained to the city, then only lip service. Actually waiting for a lawsuit against the city that we'll have to pay for when someone trips and breaks a kneecap or something! DISGRACEFUL!!!
