Best Tennis courts in Northridge, Los Angeles County for 2026

Northridge Recreation Center

Summary / Description

4 lighted tennis courts in decent condition. No shade. Nice park to walk, many benches for parties, free baseball court & tennis court. Clean restrooms. This park is the best place to pick up a game in the Chatsworth, Northridge, Porter Ranch, and Granada Hills area. There is a very active tennis group that plays on these courts. Weekday mornings are usually retirees. Weekend mornings have better players coming out. That being said, forget about playing singles in the mornings, unless you come very early. The courts need maintenance. The paint is worn out, especially around the baseline. There’s pot holes on a couple of courts. Luckily, the pickle ball crowd does not play here. In case pickleball is your game, then Granada Hills Recreational Park/Petit Park is where you need to go. Lovely large park. Great for walking dogs, There's basketball courts, a playground area with swings and slides and 3 baseball diamonds and several tennis courts. Plenty to do if you spend time in this park. There is plenty of free parking. It's super close to icecream stores and restaurants.

Lovely large park. Great for walking dogs, which is what I was doing. Has several different sort of areas. Plus a separate fenced kiddy play area. There's basketball hoops, a playground area with swings and slides and so on, and 3 baseball diamonds. Not to mention several tennis courts. They've got it all. Plenty to do if you spend time in this park. My dogs esp love it.

This park is stand out for kids to play soccer or Americans football, at night the solar street lights have motion sensors, the men restrooms can be dirty sometimes and a homeless guy and a girl were sleeping inside the women restroom.

Homeless lives here, and some people walk around the park at night screaming cursing causing disturbance almost every night. Don't feel safe at all.
