San Antonio Park in Oakland

Summary / Description

1 tennis court. In poor condition. The tennis courts don’t have nets and one of them is pretty overgrown. The fences around the tennis courts are really worn down, probably from the impact of balls heavier than tennis balls. Restrooms are dirty. There are many homeless people. This park is so beautiful! Sprawls 2 blocks on each side, no dogs allowed inside but no matter! My dog likes to walk around the edge and everyone is respectful of the rule. Super clean!! Lots of people playing soccer, basketball and running boxing camps every day. Groups of geese roaming around, lots of people on easy strolls. It’s an absolute neighborhood gem and I am so happy to live so close to it!

Always good Sometimes a lady that lives on the soccer field side, comes up to some people and is rude. I have seen it happen twice. She is well meaning. She wants the park clean. So clean up after yourself.

The people are friendly for the most part and everyone's pretty active with their workout routines. I can see myself coming here more often.

Pretty big. Soccer field, kids play structure and more. Reminds me of Dolores Park in SF the way it's on a hill. Even views the city in the distance

Hi. San Antonio Park is a beautiful place where you can do various activities, the problem is that it is an unsafe place where many dangerous activities take place. Three days ago, an older man was being harassed by three boys between the ages of ten and thirteen. One of them tried to put his hand in his pocket and another hit him with a stick. We yelled at them to leave him alone. The older man walked quickly to the sidewalk and the children began to throw small rocks at him. The police were called and they never answered or arrived. The man says that they filed the report until the next day because there were no police available and they told him that they could not do anything and that the best thing they could do was not go to that park anymore. It is a shame for the authorities of this city that now older people and children cannot go out quietly to the parks for fear of these activities and without having any protection.
