4 dedicated pickleball courts in Linda Beach Playfield in Piedmont, CA. The courts were officially restriped and resurfaced for dedicated pickleball play in August 2025. Linda Beach Park features 4 outdoor pickleball courts with permanent lines and portable nets. The courts are free to use, but please remember to use low-noise pickleball equipment. The courts are a popular local spot for pickleball enthusiasts, having transitioned from tennis courts to a dedicated pickleball facility following a successful trial period. Notice to use only approved paddles, because neighbors complained about noise. Decent courts that can get busy. Linda Ave Dog Park is across the street. There is plenty of roadside parking.

Linda Beach Pickleball Courts Rules and Regulations

To maintain a positive relationship with the surrounding neighborhood, the City of Piedmont enforces specific rules for these courts:

Approved Equipment Required: All players must use low-noise pickleball equipment. This includes using “quiet” balls provided at the location and paddles from the city’s approved paddle list. When you play at Linda Beach, you’re required to ensure your paddle is on the “approved paddle list.” Click HERE to learn more. You’re required to check the approved paddle list! If your paddle is on the list, put the provided yellow tape around your paddle. This is required by Piedmont Rec; thank you for your cooperation!
Open Play System: The courts typically operate on a first-come, first-served basis. When the courts are full, players use a whiteboard signing system to manage rotations and ensure everyone gets a turn.
Recent Upgrades: The courts were officially restriped and resurfaced for dedicated pickleball play in August 2025.
No Pets: Per city policy, dogs are not allowed on the court surface or within the fenced area.

Join us for a fun, skills-based pickleball clinic designed just for kids ages 9-14! Whether your child is brand new to the sport or already swinging with confidence, this clinic offers a fun, age-appropriate introduction to the game of pickleball. Led by a certified pickleball pro, the clinic will cover the basics of the game, including rules and scoring, serving and returning, dinking and volleys, court positioning and teamwork.

Youth Intermediate Pickleball

This clinic is for kids ages 9-14 who have completed the Beginning Clinic or can consistently rally, keep score, and understand the basics. Athletes build on foundations with focused drills and coached gameplay each week, emphasizing footwork, serve/return placement, consistent dinks, volleys, third-shot drops, transition zone movement, and doubles strategy (court positioning, shot selection, resets). Small-group instruction, sportsmanship, and confident match play are the goals.

*Prerequisites: Able to sustain a 5+ ball rally, serve in play approximately 60% of the time, and understand basic scoring and kitchen rules.*

Linda Park is such a treat for us! A woman we met with a mini schnauzer suggested this park to us and Otto (border collie/lab mix) has been going almost daily for the last week. We've been taking Otto to Frog Park which gets the job done in terms of exercising and socializing him but still leaves much to be desired, especially in terms of cleanliness. Linda Park is well maintained, pooches are friendly, and the space really gets our pup tired. That hill is a pain to go down to retrieve balls/toys but man, it wears our little guy out! I suggest leaving any toy/ball you're attached to at home and just using the tennis balls here. Parking is a huge plus and the location is wonderful too (doesn't hurt that we live down the street).

Ok, I'm the "unofficial" mayor of Linda Dog Park. This isn't a title I bestowed upon myself. It was given to me because I have collected over 100 photos of Linda Park Dogs over the last 5 years. I regularly contribute tennis balls, pooper scooper rakes and shovels, ball buckets, and other things to enhance the enjoyment of the park. My GSD, Pepper, and I go to Linda maybe 5 times a week (more often during Daylight Savings Time). Pepper loves finding children to throw her frisbee for her. Pepper finds (human) playmates about 80% of the times that we go. The PROs of the park are: It's enclosed. Most people are sociable (sometimes to the point where they neglect watching their dogs). Water and poop bags are readily available. Fairly good area for dogs to play fetch. The CONS of the park are: Can be pretty chaotic during peak time (arount 5pm). Have seen many cases of aggression (4 and 2 legged) during peak times. Owners don't always pick up after their dogs because they're too busy socializing. Toddlers need to be watched more closely as they can be easily knocked over due to narrow areas of the park.

In my opinion this is the nicest dog park around. Fenced in the whole way around and big enough so large and small dogs don't feel crammed together. Lots of shade and community chuckits/tennis balls. People are consistently nice too. Parking is never an issue. I would give this dog park five stars except I think the city of Piedmont needs to rethink the permit process. Animal services does periodically check for off leash permits and though they are nice about it, what inevitably ends up happening is the entire park is cleared and we are left alone in a dog park which is the opposite of why we are there. So while we love it, we may not renew our permit because there is no point hanging out in an empty dog park. The licenses also only last for one year and the process to get one isn't very easy. If you really want to make the dog park accessible in this way, let people sign up when you come check tags at the dog park. Get a mobile payment reader like PayPal, Square, Stripe, etc... Also the tag itself is enormous. As big as a business card. You can't expect tiny dogs to wear that. And be able to check permit status from an online registry instead of the tag. I've seen several time (myself included) people have the tag but since it's so big they don't have it on them and they have to leave. These are people who are following the rules and they have to leave. That's not constructive.

A great fenced-in dog park! The terrain has a terrific small slope for the dogs to run up and down and (if you'll forgive me) clean dirt, free of rubbish. The folk are amiable, ready to chat and equally ready to let you alone to work on training one-on-one with your dog. My dog was the smallest by an only slightly ridiculous 40-50 lbs and very welcome to the party. An enormous black destrier (great dane/lab/???) took to him immediately, and they chased, wrestled and yipped, tongues lolled and both enjoyed tremendous fun. Of particular note was while dog-owners attended to their own dogs, everybody kept a side-eye for interactions between the dogs. This "it takes a village approach" is wise with big dogs on hill terrain. I was surprised but reassured when a woman above me on the hill unobtrusively voiced my own thoughts, after my dog had let out a yip of particular umbrage during a down-hill wrestle with the destrier, "it's fine, his tail and ears are still up." Her own dog was on the other side of the park with four other dogs, sitting and waiting for a tennis ball to be thrown. I kept to the main run of the dog area, and saw that there was much more to the park before leaving. There is a concrete walkway above the hill, with benches and two drinking fountains: one for the dog and one for the person. There are plenty of abandoned balls to play with, and there seemed to be a drop-off point for done leashes and such. Across the street is the parky-park, with a pitch for football. A sidebar for anybody making a shift from San Francisco dog parks: this is not the Golden Gate Park dog park. Consider that to be your Costco of dog parks, and Linda Park to be your Bi-Rite of dog parks - in terms of construct. Beautifully made and small enough to know.

My first time at this court, and dropping in from SF, I showed up on a Wednesday to play pickleball here and before we could even take our rackets out, a lady came to tell us we can’t play until look at the signs. It was my first time at this court, and I was very disappointed. Apparently the neighbors have been complaining about the sound there’s a very extensive list by all the signage that lists what kind of paddles you can, and cannot bring. Little crazy to me, but again, I like the sound of Pickleball. Anyhoo future players beware, there are hawks circling this court, just watching… waiting…

Jango's (my dog) review: First of all, I should say this is a clean, small, fenced dog park. Water bowls, chuck-its, tennis balls (lot of them!), and doggie pick-up bags (in case mommy forgets) are available on-site. It's mostly doggie heaven. The other owners and dogs are generally very nice. Sometimes I meet a nice kid who throws the ball for me. My one complaint is that the park is on a steep hill. I'm a "ball dog" it's not always fun to play fetch here. When mommy throws the ball, it usually takes a bad hop. If I don't catch the ball right away, it will roll down to the bottom of the park along the fence. It sucks because if I'm running hard to get the ball, I could roll down the hill too! Luckily, I haven't done that yet. It's a slight bummer, but it's a big one for me and my mommy. Woof!

Difficult to enter in that a convenient gate is often locked at the middle of the fence, necessitating entry down near an underpass and around to the other side, where you end up entering across from that gate. The field area is turf and drains well. There is enough space for three concurrent games, side by side and surrounded as a whole by a low cement bench. Baseball-softball, soccer, lacrosse often are played there. Scheduling across the field has had repeating conflicts for years, neighbors tell me, but everyone does try to get along. Bathrooms are near main entrance. Picnic tables are adjacent.
