Piedmont Park was holding a festival here this past weekend with music, entertainment, and lots of food. Came here for the food fest, but walked away with an astounding appreciation for all this park has to offer... Lots of greenery, layers of foresty area and trails, fields of green grass ideal for picnicking, lovely fountains, creeks, and tiny waterfalls spilling over the rocks, park benches for seating scattered throughout, a cute Japanese Teahouse surrounded by colorful trees, and a little bit of history too (ie. former Piedmont art gallery/museum in the park replaced by the current tennis courts). Also, free street parking wasn't too difficult to find a block away on a Saturday afternoon.

Great community park with lots of open space and several historic Piedmont buildings. Play space for kids too and a tennis court.

Perfect place for a picnic! There's a nice little playground, but if the little ones get bored or you're there with the dog, it's nice to walk around. There are some beautiful paths alongside a creek as well as a Japanese style garden, big lawn areas and tennis courts.

This a small gem of a park. I rated 5 for the following reasons. For a small town park, this has a lot to offer. A beautiful, scenic lawn for reading a book on a blanket below a large tree, or sitting on a bench. It has a wonderful children's playground, good drinking fountains, a beautiful entrance, and some history associated w the location. If you have 4 legged children, there is an area behind the park which offers a dog park. This is unlike any you will have visited, it is a series of trails below redwoods where you can allow your puppy off leash. Great place for a warm day for your dog. I will be visiting often😊

Nice well maintained park with trails for walking your dog, playground for kids, fountain, and big grassy area for picnics. Playground: Nice playground for kids. Restrooms: Restroom available by the playground. Dog-friendliness: Walking trail for dogs off leash. Picnic area: Picnic tables are not available but there is plenty of grassy areas and park benches

Beautiful place with many Redwood and Ecalyptus trees along the many waking trails.

Piedmont Park is a calm, neighborhood park with plenty of green space for picnics, casual games, or a peaceful walk. There’s a playground for kids, and it’s dog-friendly too. It’s a nice, quiet spot to relax or spend time with family.

A true hidden gem! That has a bit of everything, from a playground to a small grassy area, to beautiful oak trees to walk around. Great spot for my family sessions that want a bit of everything

Very cute park. There's a small playground with a slide in a sandpit (there used to be swings here too but for some reason they took it out). There's also plenty of grassy area to lay out, run around. In the backside of the park, there's a nice shaded trail that goes alongside a small stream. I like to come here on the weekends with my little one and just walk around. Parking is usually pretty easy on the weekends - you just park in one of those spots that's usually reserved for school parking during the week. If there's some event going on during the weekends though, parking can be harder.

It's a decent park, on the smaller side and I dont think your kids will enjoy this much unless they're like 6-7 and younger. It has a big sand area off to the side, and also around the play structure. The area is good if you want to go on a stroll. Playground: Small playground, good for younger kids as it has one wide slide and and a climbing area and sliding down poles. It has a big sand play area around the play structure and also another one on the side away from the play area. Restrooms: 1 restroom only, it smelled bad and it had 1 very small sink in there. The sink was backed up so you couldn't really use it without touching the nasty water. There were no sinks outside of the restroom. Picnic area: There are a few picnic tables on the grassy area, closer to the sidewalk. There are also benches to sit and watch your kids playing.

A lovely spot for photos! Well kept landscaping, a playground, benches, paved roadways and lots of green grass.

Great off leash dog park with a creek and waterfalls. Lots of trees and several paths and stairs, like a little maze & fun to walk. Dogs need a Piedmont off leash dog tag to be off leash, you can pick one up at the Piedmont Police dept. You DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN PIEDMONT to get one:) Two schools are adjacent to the park so sometimes there are field trips there, make sure you have kid friendly dogs. Paved paths are great for walking in the rain. The park has lots of garbage cans and supplies poop bags. Outside of the off leash area is a lovely Japanese Tea Room and garden, large grassy areas, a fountain, benches, a children's playground, pre-school, community room and tennis courts.

Found this park when I was searching for off-leash dog parks. On my first visit, I wasn't a fan because it wasn't at all what I was expecting. When I think "dog run" I think natural terrain, not concrete trails. But because this park is so convenient, I have since gone back many times with my dog and have fallen in love with this park now that I've gotten used to it. Pros: -- It's like a mini forest but with concrete trails. -- The tall and plentiful trees keep this location nicely shaded, so the temperature is cool. -- Even though it's a small park, you can get a decent workout as some of these trails have a good incline to them and there's a fair amount of stairs to climb, too. -- Because the park is small, it's easy enough for me to make one quick loop and head home and my dog is still plenty happy. Or I can lengthen our stay by taking different trails for additional treks around the park. -- They provide free poop bags! -- Car parking has never been a problem Cons: -- The drop below the trails can be steep so if your dog decides to do his/her business off trail, picking up after your dog can get dicey. Sadly, you'll see poop that doesn't get picked up for this reason. Recommend coaxing your dog to "go potty" in the areas that require a leash prior to walking into the off leash zones. -- If you're looking for a place to throw a ball with your dog, there's no large open field area. (However, that doesn't prevent people from still playing fetch with their dog in the brush or creek). -- On one side of the park, there's tennis courts. Which means a lot of lost tennis balls scattered among the brush. My dog found three one day and each time that she would drop one from her mouth to rest, the ball would go rolling down the trail, or off the trail into the steep brush, which then meant she'd go diving into the brush to chase after it. -- I totally don't mind this bit, but I thought I'd throw it in the con area anyway because I have heard fellow dog walkers grumble about it. On weekdays when the high school football team is practicing in the afternoons, there's loud hip hop music playing from the fields. FYI: The city of Piedmont requires a separate permit for dogs who are off-leash. http://www.ci.piedmont.ca.us/html/forms/police_doglicense.pdf

Perhaps because it was so manicured and surrounded by upscale homes, mansions even, it felt less like a park and more like a reasonable facsimile of a small town park. I'm guessing the local residents prefer it that way, and i could easily envision fancy wedding photos taken in front of the Greek-style wall with the urn at the foot of Highland Avenue (photo: https://bit.ly/3KQG1zu). Without a tennis racquet in hand, I felt a bit like a downscale interloper since absolutely no one was sitting on the grass when I was there. There were certainly plenty of attractive knolls with leafy foliage, but I kept to the paved walkways to avoid getting into trouble. Luckily the paved back-and-forth walkways provided enough diversion along a trickling creek. You just need to give the right of way to aggressive poodles and their haughty owners. For additional diversion, there's a Japanese teahouse next to the community center, and fortunately no one mistook me for a waiter. Street parking is free for a couple of hours.

Park is alright. Definitelt not one of my favorites but its suitable for a quick park visit. Good creekside trail going pretty far down into the park. Playground has some good equipment but lacks some essential pieces like swings for older kids, and other things. Playground: Pretty decent playground, definitely designed for younger kids.
