Nature's Playground at Kilmer Park, Tahoe City Kilmer Park might be small, but it packs a punch of natural charm. It's the kind of place where you can witness the occasional bear doing its version of a jog – quite a common and thrilling sight! This park is more than just a patch of green; it's a gateway to a network of hiking and biking trails. The parking lot is like the starting line for nature enthusiasts looking to explore the scenic beauty around Tahoe City. In summary, if you're hunting for a family-friendly spot that offers a taste of wilderness and adventure, Kilmer Park is your ticket. Just remember, the bears are locals too, so keep your cameras ready and your picnic baskets closed!

KAREN ALERT: We are visiting Lake Tahoe and decided to play some pickle ball with my friends we showed up @7:30 am hoping to just wait for the court to open @8 am since that’s when you can play. The gate was open already so we thought that was great to get some more time in. We barely started a game when this lady came in stomping towards me and my friends. She started yelling at us saying that it doesn’t open until 8 am and we were being too loud because she lives in the near by houses. She proceeded to keep yelling at us for not apologizing to her when I told her I wouldn’t since she was being very mean about it and we just assumed it was free to play because we saw the gate was open and not at all locked. She grabbed me and hit my arm as well as grabbing my paddle throwing it on the floor. She assaulted me and when I threatened to call the police she started walking away. I was able to file a report but just beware of neighbors that live near by because you might get assaulted by a karen. She’s was white with blonde long hair about 6ft skinny and kinda looked like will ferrell.
