PICKLEBALL COURT PEAK TIME RULES

  • Peak time refers to instances when all courts are occupied, and one or more individuals are awaiting their turn. Please exercise judgment to identify peak times and consult other players on the courts if uncertain.
  • During peak times, limit warm-up sessions on all courts to a maximum of 5 minutes. If players are not actively participating in a game, rallying should not exceed 10 minutes.
  • When engaged in singles play, be prepared to transition to doubles play upon the arrival of additional players.
  • Waiting players should place their paddles alongside their preferred court, adjacent to the net post. Each player should only wait in line for one court at a time and a player not present at the commencement of their game will be moved to the back of the queue. Using multiple paddles or objects as placeholders in multiple waiting lines is prohibited. An individual or paddle cannot reserve a spot for multiple players. Players who prefer to play with a group or another player should put in their paddles at the same time.
  • The middle court (#2) functions as a challenge court, with the winning team continuing to play. The winning team should accommodate splitting up at the request of incoming players after 3 consecutive games (11 points, win by 2).
  • Side courts (#1 & #3) are designated for single-game use only (commonly known as full rotation or “4-on-4-off”).
  • In the event of any court being rented out, the challenge court function will be suspended for the duration of the rental.

There are four outdoor courts in downtown San Francisco. You can play for free from morning to night. Each court is free to line up. The second court is a master competition court, and the battle is fierce. I arrived at 6:00 pm. It may be dinner time and it was very cold at 12 degrees Celsius. There were few people. I went to the competition court with my head held high. Of course, I was beaten. I played for 40 minutes and returned because of the rain. It was a rare experience.
Neutral Reviews:
Annalisa Mcguinness: ★★★
Be weary, the courts are on a slope and easy to get injured. Sprained my ankle pretty badly. Certain groups hog the court by putting multiple paddles in the queue in order to cut people and play multiple rounds.
Joe Dimont: ★★★
Courts are all on a slope and fence is quite near the edge of the court. Also frequently booked for corporate events. Queuing system is for individual courts not the courts as a whole.
Negative Reviews:
Enrico P: ★
The worst pickleball courts in San Francisco. Some courts have the curb cutting into them, there’s a dip in the ground at the net, the court surfaces are garbage, the outdoor lights are uneven and get in your eyes, the net posts are jacked up.
Ben Chen: ★★
Cool setting in downtown, played in the AM with no wait, but court surface is terrible. Playing surface is non-standard surface and jagged/mismatched, the ball will sometimes bounce in unexpected ways.
rolando tolmeo: ★
They have no security at all. One of our friends bag got stolen. As anywhere in the city, you are on your own
Bryan Li: ★
Used to be a great hub for pick up games, now reservations are outrageously expensive and only booked by corporations.
