Best Tennis and Pickleball Courts in Yountville, Napa County

1 tennis court, 4 dedicated pickleball courts in Vineyard Park in Yountville, California. Shade benches. No court lights. Free open play pickleball 9-noon. Not too crowded. Sometimes there are not enough games going to get a rotation started on Sunday mornings. You can go to Las Flores in Napa where you will find a game. Clean, large, restroom nearby. The location is very residential. Sufficient free parking. Nice little urban park on the edge of town next to vineyards.

Courts are open 8 am – Dusk. There is certain programmed play times Monday – Friday on Courts 1, 2 and 4. Court 3 is available for drop-in rotational play of levels not taking part in scheduled play at that time.

During these times, Parks and Recreation programmed play will be occurring on Courts 1, 2 & 4 with court 3 available for drop in rotational play of levels not taking part in scheduled play at that time.

There’s also dedicated time slots for beginners in Yountville at Vineyard Park, from 10 am to noon Mondays and Wednesdays.

Outdoor Pickleball Courts at Vineyard Park

4 outdoor courts at Vineyard Park. These courts were reconstructed in 2018 to allow for play that is fun and easy on the knees. Courts are open 8 am – Dusk. There is certain programmed play times Monday – Friday on Courts 1, 2 and 4. Court 3 is available for drop-in rotational play of levels not taking part in scheduled play at that time.

To ensure the enjoyment of all of our park visitors, please observe the following Rules and Regulations

• Dogs are not allowed on any sport court area (With the exception of service dogs)
• Skateboards, Rollerblades, Skates and Skooters are not allowed on sports courts
• Smoking is prohibited
• Please observe a 1 Hour time limit of play for Tennis and follow the posted rotation rule for Pickleball
• Private or Professional Lessons are only allowed by Town issued permit
• Courts are available on a first come, first serve basis at all times unless a program sponsored or permitted by the Town is scheduled and posted
• No Food or Beverages other than Water are permitted on the courts
• Non-Marking Tennis Shoes are required

Pickleball Etiquette

The Town of Yountville welcomes you to our Parks Court Hours 8 AM – SUNSET

• Acknowledge other players before and after the game
• When retrieving a ball that went onto another court, wait until play has stopped and say “ball on court”
• Keep a positive attitude and smile
• Call out the score before you serve – this avoids confusion.
• Compliment quality of play, it goes a long way
• Court Rotation – Make sure no one is left waiting to play
• Call faults only on your side of the net – graciously accept calls made by the opponent
• If the ball is close to the line and you are not 100% sure it is out – then it is good
• Keep your temper in check and keep things fun
• Don’t focus your shots towards the weaker player; it won’t help your game
• Slams or overheads at players are NOT ACCEPTABLE if within 20 feet
• Try not to coach or give advice unless asked
• If you have played two games in a row, and players are waiting, you should rotate out

Pickleball is an inclusive sport. Everyone was a beginner once and improved through the generosity, patience and the ability to practice with stronger players. We encourage every player to invest some of their time into helping players improve.

The rules below apply at all times unless during organized events or on reserved courts:

• Waiting players rotate in at the conclusion of each game on “Open-Play” Courts. Players should rotate onto courts with players of similar skill.
• Single waiting players replace one player on the court or two waiting players replace two current players. (During extremely busy times 4 waiting players should rotate in)
  
• Deciding who rotates out can be: Voluntarily, the two losing players, two players who have had two consecutive games, or some other fair method.
• Courts are to be used for PICKLEBALL ONLY.
• Two courts must be available for “open-play” unless reserved or being used for Town of Yountville approved programming.
• Tournaments, leagues, classes, lessons or other organized group use are only allowed by permit from the Town of Yountville.
