This park is so great! It's spacious, has plenty of spaces to park at, and has luscious trees for shade. I came here for a church picnic and my church is a huge congregation. It had plenty of space for all of us and more. There are multiple tennis courts, basketball courts, areas with tables in case you want to eat or use the space for an event and more. It was very clean and even the bathrooms were very clean, had toilet paper, and were open and available for us to use. There were multiple bathrooms in different areas of the park. All in all it's a nice big space to enjoy some fun park activities. I do recommend enjoying this space.

The park has 3 baseball fields. A kiddie pool and playground. A track with workout equipment. Basketball and tennis courts. Parking is rarely a problem. I highly recommend this park.
Cheryl Tate: ★★★★★
Nice secluded park for the neighboring residents. Hawthorne parks and recreation do a fine job of keeping their parks modern and well maintained.

Nice small park. I've visited this park twice. Once on a Sunday at 4:00 pm and once during the week at 3:30 pm. The times I visited, this park had a constant level of noise. The noise from the steady stream of cars driving on Van Ness revving their engines, cars and motorcycles driving by playing very loud music, and there must be an airport nearby. In 30 minutes three small planes flew overhead. It's not a quiet park. The park itself is nice. It has one large picnic area where you can make reservations if you have a large group. Very nice children's area and lots of seating and benches throughout. I visit parks to walk my dogs and this park really does not have a walking path. It does have three very large grassy fields for sports which are well maintained and open to everyone. The paths inside the park are pretty but they just take you to a certain area like a path to the children's play area. The one path that is a circle is a dirt path around one of the fields. The front of this path is on Van Ness, lots of traffic and the right side of the path is next to an old set of railroad tracks. The area is fenced off, but your view is trash. The next two turns on the path are inside the park so these are nice. I wasn't in love with the walking path, but I was able to walk my dogs in one of the grassy fields at the very back. If you are going to this park for a picnic, to play in one of the fields, sit on one of the benches, the children's play area, you may find the park very enjoyable. If you are going to use the walking path, I would pass. Also my visit on Sunday afternoon there was a large group in the picnic area that started fighting. I immediately left. This fighting may have been a one time event by attendees using the picnic area. Otherwise it's a nice park if you don't mind the background noise.
Negative Reviews:

The maintenance manager or supervisor for this park takes no pride in the cleaning of the park. The grounds are filthy. The tennis courts have had burned out lights for over 3 years. The tennis courts are always dirty with spills and the BBQ area and trash cans are always full.
