Summary / Description
2 dedicated pickleball courts with fence in Felicita County Park in Escondido, CA. Courts are clean and well maintained. Shade from the trees. Two pickleball courts the only thing is that there is no bathroom really close to them. There are different events held there such as movie night for kids and a Renaissance fair. You can book a wedding as well in there dedicated space. There is also a pickle ball court. You must pay to park and the money goes back to the park system so I suggest doing that versus parking in the nearby neighborhood. There is not sidewalks in the neighborhood so it's sketchy to park basically in the roadway where cars are forced into the oncoming lane. Restrooms are basic, but clean.
Felicita County Park's expansive area offers various sports fields, two playgrounds, walking paths & a disc golf course. Tucked into a small valley in southwest Escondido and set amid some of Southern California’s largest and most beautiful ancient oaks, Felicita County Park is full of natural, cultural and recreational resources. It sits within the San Dieguito watershed and spans approximately 346 acres. Felicita Creek flows through the park. It runs year-round, providing water for plants, trees and local wildlife, and contributing to the park’s natural beauty. The park features 2.5 miles of multi-use non-motorized trails, seven reservable picnic areas, two playgrounds, a small park museum and restrooms. A TRACK Trail for kids turns learning into an adventure with a scavenger hunt that can be logged online for cool prizes. Rich Native American and pioneer history have landed this park on the National Register of Historic Places. Guided classes and interpretive hikes are available by reservation to bring the area’s past to life for interested visitors.

The festival was located in Felicita park in Escondido, CA, approximately 40 min from San Diego. The festival incredibly promotes the Bulgarian folklore, singing and dancing ensembles from all over the country. A well maintained park with a number of amenities which include: Multiple child play structures, for older and younger kids. Swingsets. Pull-up bars and excercise oriented play equipment. 2 Pickleball courts. Picnic and gathering areas with tables and BBQs. A few large open grassy areas. A labyrinth of short and easy hiking trails. Parking is $3

Great park! So pretty and open. I visited because of a Renaissance fair the park was so big and accommodated everything and one nicely. Everything looked taken care of and not trashed at all. Very nice park. Playground: Equipment looked new and looks fun! I was there for a ren faire and I don't have children but I saw many kids playing and enjoying the cool slides and monkey bars. Restrooms: Clean!! Needs a new mirror that's for sure. But very clean and was stocked. Dog-friendliness: Was attending a ren faire and dogs were everywhere! Loves it and it seemed like everyone was doing their part to pick up after their pet. I'll definitely be bringing my pup next time. Picnic area: I didn't see many benched but it did have some but plenty of areas to sill under trees in the shade.

The Escondido Renaissance Fair is here 2 times a year. I have been to this park many times over the years coming to the Renaissance faire. It's a beautiful and well maintained park, lots of parking and places to explore. Have fun.

We went to the Renaissance Faire here and loved it! It was my 1st time to this particular Renaissance Faire but my friends had been here before. It's one of the smaller fairs but they had but they had a lot of entertainment the normal delicious food and a good time was had by all!!
Carol Moening: ★★★★★
Went for Ren Faire. Parking was inexpensive...$3. Great time at Ren Faire, lots to do. Great blueberry mead, smoked turkey and garlic fries. Homemade ice cream which was delicious according to my grandkids. Make sure to do Queen's quest and scavenger hunt for colored flags. This mother's day weekend, the faire is on.
Vinka Valdivia:
This is a nice park for both hiking trails (not too long) and picnics or taking the kids to playgrounds. The best time to visit is in the Spring or Fall when everything's green and the water is flowing. It dries up a bit in the summer and right now it's overgrown in places.

The good stuff: This park is lovely with beautiful trails and a nice playground. The Escondido Renaissance Faire and other fantastic events are held here. Most of the park rangers are kind and helpful. The bad stuff: There are some serious accessibility and safety issues. The bathrooms have an accessible stall, but there is no safe way for a wheelchair to actually get to the restrooms. There is a steep grassy hill in the front of the restrooms and an area filled with roots and gopher holes behind the restrooms. There should be a safe, paved ramp leading to the restrooms that connects to a sidewalk leading to the parking lot and the playground. The extremely large chunks of loose mulch everywhere is another big safety issue. Even wheelchairs and scooters intended for outdoor use get stuck in the stuff. I have seen ambulatory people slip in this mulch, too. The compacted hard dirt in other areas of the park is safer. The mulch also disguises the gopher holes. Earlier this year, my wheelchair got caught in a hidden gopher hole here, and I got flung out of my chair and fractured a rib. Yes, many areas of the park will never be accessible to all, but please at least make sure that there is a safe route to the restrooms. Restrooms: Basic, but clean. However, there is no accessible route to the restrooms.

Why is parking $$ before 5pm and not the whole time during open hours?? Not cool!!

It's an ok park. The play ground is nice for the kids. Watch out for snakes this time of year. We encountered a few in the grass and play ground area.

PAY TO PARK

Visited the park today 11/16/24 approximately at 10am. Today marks 5 days after Veteran's Day. To both me and my husbands surprise (each as 20 year retired disabled Marine Corps Veteran's), we were told neither our National Parks Pass or CA state Parks pass were enough to forgo the entrance fee. Shame on this facility for charging an entrance to any armed service member given CA has the biggest military occupation. To cap it off, we realized the Kit Carson (literally down the street) not only is bigger and better but free. Will NOT be returning.

Handicap parking is free only not enough space. Not enough bathroom facilities to accommodate all the guest visiting the park. Not enough picnic tables.

Unfortunately to pay the $3 to get in the park, the trail wasn't easy to follow the path, need better markers please and thank you
