Great tennis courts but the restroom needs some work.

Excellent courts to play tennis on. It does get busy around 3-4 PM most days however, so you may have to wait for a court to open up if you come later in the afternoon/evening.

I love the tennis courts here and the many events and clinics put together by coach Don Pham.

Plenty of space for different activities. Clean and well maintained. Good place to have a picnic or big gathering for bday parties. Parking might be tough when softball or baseball games or practices are happening. They have tennis courts, amphitheater, soccer area and field hockey.

Great park. There is plenty of parking, several sports fields, miles of trails, disc golf course, tennis courts, and two new playground areas. There are no basketball courts nor fenced dog park. You have to watch out for morning school drop off drivers, they drive crazy fast. Dog-friendliness: On leash only. Picnic area: Lots of picnic areas, some by reservation through the city.

Kit Carson Park is a jewel, there are different activities as hiking, disc golf, feeding the ducks (ducks food not bread), tennis courts, hockey, and appreciating nature as the birds, squirrels, ducks and turtles. Playgrounds for the kids, pic-nic areas with tables, great for families and friends! My only complaint is the park is not taking care with caring, the old and dry bushes still there, maybe money issues to take care the plants, trees, the greenery? We really enjoy this park, just great!! 🙏 Playground: Playground for young kids and another for 5 years old and above. Restrooms: Yea. Picnic area: Yes

Excellent park to take your dog for a run or walk.. Huge area for any type of celebration, either birthday or even wedding! ( I've seen it). There are so many trails to explore! It has a Frisbee golf course and a tennis court. Shaded bench to relax and enjoy nature or watch and feed the ducks by the pond. Can't decide where to start, don't worry. Signs everywhere. Lots of parking. This park is always busy!! Playground: Padded playground for kids. Restrooms: Bathroom is everywhere. Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly. Picnic area: Lots of picnic area

This place is amazing. It's large and tons to do and explore. It also has history which is a huge plus. A lot of people play disc golf, and there are numerous courses for it. Others simply walk and run around. There's also nice tennis courts to play at. Tons of walking trails too. Fun surprises while you're at it! Take a day or two and explore. Learn ahead of time the best days to come as Quren Califa isn't open everyday or at all times. There are plenty of bathrooms that are keep decently clean. Playground: Updated play structure that is amazing for all children. Restrooms: It's not as bad as some park bathrooms. Most are clean and don't smell. They tend to take care of them. Water fountain water isn't terrible tasting. Dog-friendliness: Lots of people walk their dog.
Nina Haines: ★★★★★
This park has it all! Family fun, disc golfers, tennis courts, trails, Queen Kalifa maze, picnic tables, pond with ducks etc! Lately a young crowd coming to park to play Pokémon Go too! Playground: Large 2 playgrounds for little kids. Dog-friendliness: Lots of people with doggies. Picnic area: Picnic tables throughout the park

We could have spent all day at Kit Carson Park!! See below for all notes on individual areas. 📍3333 Bear Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92025 🚙Plenty of free parking in large parking lots (some of which is covered with solar panels) 💰This park is free 🎠There are 2 separate play structures by tree lake which are both built on a mulch ground surface. The larger playground has standard swings and the smaller one has bucket swings. There are also more stand-alone standard swings over by the frisbee golf fields. There isn’t any shade coverings over the structures or swings so be sure to use sun protective measures! (I made sure my son was covered but I got fried 😬) 🗿Queen Califia’s Magical Sculpture Garden was closed when we went. So if you want to see these eclectic art pieces: It is open on Tues & Thurs from 9am-12pm & on 2nd & 4th Sat from 9am-2pm 🚽Restrooms located at the playgrounds by Tree Lake, at the Tennis Center, and two more by the frisbee golf 🧺Multiple picnic tables under pavilions, gazebos, and other areas around the park 🍔Charcoal grills 🪑Park benches at playground 🌇Scenic city views from the trails 🖼Large lawn 🌳Shady trees by the playgrounds and frisbee golf areas 🌟Clean grounds 🛣Far from busy roads 🥾Dirt trails that connect to the paved loop. We saw a coyote cross the trail and go into the bushes so keep your animals close! 🚲Paved paths perfect for bikes, scooters, roller blades, and strollers 🦆Duck pond is between the tennis courts, sculpture garden, and frisbee golf ⚾️A TON of baseball fields 🎾Tennis courts (probably some of the nicest courts I’ve seen at a public park! The landscaping around them is so pretty!) 🥏Frisbee golf (this is where the large snake sculpture is) The following areas are gated and may require admission. Check the website for information (sportscenter.escondido.org): 🛹Skate park ⚽️Soccer fields 🏒Hockey arena 🏟Amphitheater

Accessibility: this park is accessible for wheelchairs and others as there is disabled parking, paved parking lots and sidewalks. The benches to sit on/near are in the grass however. This park is big in size but it is more spread out than a lot of other parks in Escondido/North County. It has a tennis court, skate park(you have to pay for a membership to use), a pond, Queen Califia's Magical Garden, Frisbee golf, and lots of grass fields for sports events. Open to the public there are two small playgrounds, bathrooms in small buildings, benches here-and-there in the grass, and lots of trees with tons of shade. There is a creek going through the park but it is dried up. This is a beautiful place to take photos. Safety: I would consider this an okay, safe area, but only during the day and in the most open places. On smaller, more hidden areas such as walking to Queen Califia's Magical Garden, it is very hidden so I recommend going with other people and only going during the day. Even during day hours I have come across groups of people lingering on those hidden trails so please watch your surroundings always. There are park rangers working that check the grounds but they cannot be everywhere at all times. Proximity: this park is right next to the mall so if you are able to walk, you can go from this park to the mall.

My son and I always enjoy bringing the car to the weekly meetup at this park. The people are friendly and respectful. There's also a playground for the kids as well has a tennis court, batting cages, baseball fields and walking trails.

Nice fields. They did not chalk the foul line past the infield. There are the name fields on one end, and the numbered ones are where the solar panels are. Get there early enough to park under them for shade. Tennis courts have some cool plants. Concessions open at 8 during our tournament. Shade at the fields is very limited. The foul ball nets are 90% effective. Make sure you are under them. Restrooms Pretty average for park bathrooms.

Lots to do here, baseball or softball fields, jungle gyms, tennis courts, soccer fields, a skate park, Indoor soccer or roller hockey courts, huge grassy picnic areas with shady trees and a stream, and even a wonderful and kitschy interactive artistic sculpture based on broken tile and glass. I really enjoy the free 18 hole disk golf course and the pro-shop that supports it. Theres something for everyone at Kit Carson Park.

Kit Carson Park is my favorite park in San Diego. They have a skate park, tennis courts, softball fields, indoor hockey, and disc golf! The disc golf course here is, in my opinion, the best one in San Diego. They have an awesome pro shop ran by Matt and the course offers 18 holes, some par 4’s, that wind around the northern end of the park before coming south back towards the parking lot. This park has many bbq spots, a gazebo, swings, a little river, many bathrooms, and tons of amenities for families to enjoy their weekends here. Bring the dog and the kids and a big picnic blanket because Kit Carson park has everything you need to have a great day out alone or with the fam.

Great for walking, has some fun paths and is right next to the mall. Fun to go for a walk and then head in to the air conditioned mall. Has bathrooms, which I'm pretty sure choose in the evenings. Has pokestops and gyms, tennis courts, ponds, amphitheater, skating area, tons of paved parking, lots of grass, baseball feild and roller hockey rink. The Queen Khalifa art garden area is still under construction as of July 2016, but is really cool to view and interact with when open. Great park, my favorite in Escondido.
