Pickleball at Demuth Park

Pickleball courts at Demuth Park are under reconstruction starting from September 22, 2025.
The City of Palm Springs Department of Parks & Recreation will begin construction on the highly anticipated Demuth Park Pickleball Courts Expansion Project on Monday, September 22, 2025, requiring the temporary closure of the existing courts at 4365 Mesquite Avenue.

The project will transform Demuth Park into a premier pickleball destination, adding 22 new courts, including a dedicated tournament court, to meet the growing demand for the sport. Planned upgrades also include enhanced lighting, new sidewalks, shade structures, and additional trees to improve comfort and aesthetics for players and spectators alike.

Construction is expected to last approximately eight months, with a grand reopening projected for spring 2026.

To ensure players don’t miss out during the renovation period, the City has partnered with the College of the Desert, which is offering 12 temporary courts near its satellite campus on South Hermosa Drive, near East Baristo Road. These courts are already open for public use.

During construction, the only Pickleball instruction through the Palm Springs Recreation Department will be offered at the Demuth Community Center on Thursday mornings. There are options for private, semi-private, and group drill classes starting at 7:45 a.m. indoors. Contact Sean Hinton for more information at Sean.Hinton@palmspringsca.gov

Other options during construction at Demuth Park

Open to the public for a fee:

  • Paradise Pickleball, located inside the Embassy Suites by Hilton on Hwy 111 in Palm Desert.
  • Pickle Bar – behind Costco off Dinah Shore.

Stay tuned for updates on the groundbreaking of the new Demuth Pickleball courts, coming soon!
For questions about the project, contact Pickleball@PalmSpringsCA.gov or call +1-760-323-8272.

Great family park in Palm Springs that offers tennis, pickleball, soccer, baseball and playgrounds. Playgrounds need a bit of updating by the city....but a great family park overall.
S Penderites: ★★★★★
A beautiful Community Park here in Palm Springs, with an incredible array of amenities such as tennis, pickleball, indoor basketball volleyball and pickleball, outdoor ball facilities of every description. They have recently repaved the parking lot and the grounds are very well kept up. And the view of the surrounding mountains is unparalleled anywhere in the Intermountain West!
La Lilly Limon: ★★★★★
Grew up with this beautiful park, tennis court, soccer field, baseball field, playground. The only minus is the restroom situation....needs alot of help!!
Frank Collins: ★★★★★
Demuth Park is a beautiful and spacious spot to enjoy the outdoors. There’s plenty of room for picnics and a variety of ball games. The open fields make it great for group activities. The bike path is well-maintained and perfect for a relaxing ride.

One of the cleanest co.munity centers available with plenty of parking. It's too bad the bathrooms are. Locked always. My only complaint.
David Dean: ★★★★
The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the smell. It is adjacent to a waste water treatment plant.
Steven Moore: ★★★★★
The staff that comprise contractors and city personnel have been involved with making our park the best place to have a family style e any and meetings or an outdoor lunch . The park has sports events a community center s d serves also as an Emergency Evacuation center and FEMA hospital shpd we have an Earth quake ot other major disaster. As a Volunteer and having EMS /EMT I try to make sure that we are able to assist you with Concerns and help should you need to request help . Example . Keeping bathrooms safe and clean family style withlessi ncidents of unfamiliar or undesired pick up or patrols when police are not present. Only a volunteer.

Jay Keller: ★★★
Too crowded for only 2 courts of pickleball. Mostly sat waiting.
Darrin Erb: ★★★
Love the tennis courts.
danita beauchamp: ★★★
Gravel parking lot for fields 7 & 8 ladies room out of toilet paper. Softball fields are well maintained. Good shade and nice grass area and soccer area.
Robert Schuppert-McDonald: ★★★
Nice park except I had stopped to walk my dogs, and the parking lots had broken glass everywhere. I didn't like the "off leash" area as it was just dirt no grass. If I had walked without my dogs I would have rated the park 5-stars.
Amelia Rosales: ★★★
We enjoy going to the park every year for Easter but they dont ever have anyone to refill toilet paper in the bathrooms. They only have one stall and it's always dirty.
Negative Reviews:
David Katzner: ★★
This is not a review for the center but the pickleball courts at the other end of the park. There is a horrendous odor of raw sewage that is quite powerful. I thought it was just a bad day but I was told it is a regular occurrence.
XHR7 bois: ★
To many mosquitoes
LaVerle Eddy: ★★
