PICKLEBALL AT DEMUTH PARK ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSED
🏓 DEMUTH PARK PICKLEBALL COURTS CLOSING FOR MAJOR EXPANSION 🏓 STARTING FROM September 22, 2025
The City of Palm Springs Department of Parks & Recreation will begin construction on the highly anticipated Demuth Park Pickleball Courts Expansion Project on Monday, September 22, 2025, requiring the temporary closure of the existing courts at 4365 Mesquite Avenue.

The project will transform Demuth Park into a premier pickleball destination, adding 22 new courts, including a dedicated tournament court, to meet the growing demand for the sport. Planned upgrades also include enhanced lighting, new sidewalks, shade structures, and additional trees to improve comfort and aesthetics for players and spectators alike.

Construction is expected to last approximately eight months, with a grand reopening projected for spring 2026.

To ensure players don’t miss out during the renovation period, the City has partnered with the College of the Desert, which is offering 12 temporary courts near its satellite campus on South Hermosa Drive, near East Baristo Road. These courts are already open for public use. For questions about the project, contact Pickleball@PalmSpringsCA.gov or call +1 760-323-8272.

Park is nice and playgrounds are new, city employees power wash it down weekly. There’s always homeless lurking on the outskirts but hey thats California. The park is also next tk the sewage plant so on some days the smell is atrocious. Great place to bring kids.
Mary Alvarado: ★★★★★
This looks like a brand new park for the kids. The slides are really fun for the big kids because they’re steeper, and they loved the spinner and the little kid area. Shaded too! Very nice.
Sylvia Diamant: ★★★★★

I go to Jace's low impact aerobics class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Love it! The class is basically men and women over 50. All the members are so friendly and welcoming! I moved to Palm Springs almost 5 months ago and have found a family!
Don Adlam: ★★★★★
This review is only for the kids playground. Excellent! The kids loved it. Lots of slides and swings and climbing stuff. In addition there is a seperate fenced playground for toddlers. The grass is green, and there are plenty of shade trees with benches to sit on too.
