This place has 4 pickleball courts 2 tennis courts.

Great park. Very clean and spacious!! Tons of pickle ball and tennis courts. Open late. A hidden gem!
Suzanna Nicholson: ★★★★
The trails and wide sidewalks are good for young bikers and multiples strollers, and the playground promotes a diverse amount of play ability. My son could climb the easy way up and slide down the slide to me at 18 mo, and his sister still enjoys testing her climbing and bars abilities as a teen-ager. The field on the other side of the trail is perfect for playing Frisbee or ball or tag, or flying a kite, or just running around. There are bathrooms and water fountains, even one for your pets. Two picnic tables, several tennis courts, shade trees spaced nicely. All contained in a small space in a way that feels wide open.
Steve Bassman: ★★★★★
My favorite spot in South Sacramento to play tennis with my kids. The courts are better maintained without turning balls black by repairing courts improperly with tar. My only issue is the night lights only work in one set of courts. Being the best local courts they are especially popular at night and so i can't anyways play while there are 4 empty dark courts. This city isn't maintained well like surrounding cities and parks suffer as a result. Hopefully we can get our parks looking and maintained better. This court is farther than a few others but it's my go to in the daytime.
Sergius Magnus: ★★★★
Great Tennis Courts. Would have given them 5 stars if it wasn't for the homeless problem, but what park in Sacramento doesn't have homeless people living in it, right??
JULIE M: ★★★★
Sheldon Park has lots of space tennis courts, and lots of soccer games ⚽. A play ground, bike trails, open clean bathrooms and an office up front where you can rent time on the soccer fields or tennis courts. Barbecue areas and two parking lots. Close to the library and Jose Rizal Community center.
Neal McAuliffe: ★★★★★
Loved the feel of open gazebos with benched tables, refuse cans, friendly and private folks enjoying the setting. Tennis Courts, bathroom, water fountain, handicap/special needs friendly!
Jill Thiery: ★★★★★
This is the park just down from my mom's, it has it all really, tennis courts, picnic tables, walking trails, baseball diamond, grassy area for kids and pets, soccer field, etc. so if you haven't been there, give it a try, it's worth it! They lock it up at night so b4 10 pm is best!

Like the very first reviewer said, this park is not in the best area. What is provided at the park is great and parking is easy (as long as there's no event), but there are strange people who roam the area and many people speed down the road. Not ideal to visit when it's getting late and would *highly* recommend sticking in groups. I was here yesterday around 4 PM just to hang around the neighborhood cats and was harassed by a man who later came back to get close to my car in an aggressive manner to throw some type of wad of tissue. Leave the scene immediately if somebody starts harassing you because they will return.

Jack N. Sheldon Park is located in the City of Sacramento, and is part of the "Southgate Recreation Park District ." I was brought here many many years ago by my late brother in-law who loved to play tennis. There must be at least 5 to 6 lighted tennis courts here plus bench seating for spectators to watch. The parks other amenities are, a lighted parking lot, a baseball diamond, soccer fields, picnic area with BBQ's, shaded structure, and of course a play area with slides and climbing structures for the kids. Restrooms are also available. Since the park is not situated in the best of area, I would recommend visiting only in day light hours ! Now let's hit some balls !!!!
Samia Talib: ★★★
nice park with tennis courts and nice playground. However, it is not a safe place for someone by itself or for a mom by herself with kids. It is occupied by homeless people living in their cars therefore you can't really feel safe as you don't know who's in the car. Someone who is going through hardship and has to live in his car or someone with bad intentions. Also, the restrooms has no door now, there is like a short wall hiding the toilet seat and it is always stinky and disgusting with no basic necessities. So, be prepared with your desinfecting wipes, paper towels, and soap.
John Spuehler: ★★★
The parks appearance clean and very nice to eat lunch, play tennis or just walk and play soccer. But what is really nice I did not see one homeless person.
JR GEE: ★★★
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL PARKS TENNIS COURTS, BUT DOPE FIENDS AND TRANSITS TOOK OVER SIDEWALKS.
Negative Reviews:
Kimberly Roberts: ★★
Bathrooms are rough!! I recommend not using them. Felt a bit sketchy there, but there are a good amount of tennis courts if that's what you are into.
Chou Lao (lifeisfull): ★★
To many homeless ppl n one side of the tennis courts don't have light.

I have to separate family and fun at least over here because the tweakers and wondering how both don’t vibe too well with the little people
