Love this park. My boys play soccer here and the fields are amazing. It’s also always full of people: kids playing everywhere, people playing tennis/pickleball, or people just using the great fields for pick up games.

Beautifully manicured soccer fields, and we'll maintain tennis court, backed along the river. Great place to take your dog for a walk or a picnic in the park.

A really great park, it's never too crowded. Occasionally the soccer teams have practice there, which is entertaining to watch. It's got a tennis court and a ton of field to have fun with the whole family. It also has a playground for little kids :)

Park is well maintained. Playground area is clean. Tennis courts could use a little TLC. There is a lot of grassy areas so multiple events/sports can be happening at once. So much room to play with a dog or fly a kite.

Well kept public park in the area that’s great for family outings. Tennis courts could use some maintenance, but nevertheless one can still have an enjoyable time.

This park has access to the river. It has huge fields. There is a parking lot tucked away one one side and there is access to it on the street on the other side. It's not a good place for my kids to ride their bikes because there's only one short cemented trail. It has a tennis court and a picnic area of tables and a grill.

I like this park but my kids say the playground portion is a bit dull compared to other parks we walk to in the area. But the grass is great here, no ground squirrels tearing up the lawn. Great place to let your pooch run off leash.

It's really clean. The grass is well groomed and the playground is very clean. Also the water fountain, is incredibly clean

It was a very hot Sunday. I was driving home from a visit with my family near the American River and my truck's AC wasn't working at all that day. I decided to stop at the park & get into the river to cool off before going back to my home in South Sacramento. I parked in the parking lot by the elementary School that's next to this park. It's at the end of Larchmont Community Park's huge lawn. Then I took a quick walk up to the American River walking trail, then I walked all the way down the hill to the river. It was a beautiful peaceful day. I had my swimsuit on already but the water was just a tad too chilly for me to jump in and swim. Yeah I'm a big ninny sometimes. I'm getting braver the more I go to the river, or even a swimming pool. What I always do to cool off when the water is too cold for me & the weather outside is roasting hot is I walk into the river at the edge of the beach (going very slowly so I don't fall on my butt), just out far enough to be in the slightly swift, fresh cold water. About up to my knees at most. Then I sit down in the water on the rocks (as I'm clinging to them so I don't go floating downstream accidentally). After I sit there for a couple minutes in the water splashing the current and tossing rocks looking at the pretty scenery, watching the sun as it's setting, hearing the & birds singing as they fly by... I have finally gotten used to the cold water & feel brave enough to lay my head all the way back into the river. It always feels so good!🏊♀️ After that I went back up the hill to walk back to the park. I love the soft, green grass at Larchmont Community Park. The park has beautiful redwood trees and nice park benches in a few spots near the side of the lawn by the Townhouse/Condos. There was a nice breeze which started blowing just after I cooled off in the river. I decided to throw my towel on the grass and lie down on my black to relax some more before heading back to the hot truck in the parking lot. I like looking up at the trees when I'm doing that, It was so relaxing! I have found that these types of excursions to the river & to the park or anywhere in nature, really help me to destress, by getting rid of any muscle tension that's built up in my neck and upper back. Then, with my tension relieved my mind is calmer & I feel refreshed and in a happier state of mind. You should try it. There weren't very many people there that day. Just before sunset Thank you God for the sun, the river, beautiful nature and for all the beautiful creatures you created. Thank you God for allowing me the privilege of being able to own and insure, a running vehicle (knock on wood it's running at the moment). So I can drive it to any peaceful place I want and drive myself back home safely. The heat is no joke so having this blessing means so much to me. I am blessed indeed!
