Been getting back into tennis after a long hiatus and i've started going to the 90 minute adult classes (beginnger/intermediate). They are such a blast, and it's a great mix of fun/learning. Couldn't recommend this place enough! in addition to the classes, I have take one private lesson from Juan...which was also top notch and improved my game 10x!
Homie Davaloo Ghajar: ★★★★★
I love this place, and my son takes Tennis classes. The staff and coaches are a wonderful and loving team and hard working. The coaches are young and loving with children. My son is six years old, and he is pleased. Thanks

So with covid 19 happening, its great to find place we can exercise, and as a family. Deal is great, $75 per family per year, with ability to book a specific court a week in advance. Just use the bathroom before u come because the office is closed due to covid and parking is usually full in afternoon because of afterschool tennis classes and soccer teams are using the fields. But they have lights at night and hand sanitizer.

Kenadi is a great coach! She has a effective way in communicating the skills to help you grow! Highly recommend playing with her as her positivity is contagious!

Love this place and the fact that there is a lot of breeze on top of this hill! It's great! This place is always packed and has great instructors plus the owner helped us out by allowing us to rent the courts when the gyms closed indoor operations!
Diva Ramirez: ★★★★★
My 10 yr. old son's having a blast at the beginner lessons. Helpful staff, ample room, free equipment, and extremely patient teachers, what more would you need!
Sean Ehsan: ★★★★★

David Alden: ★★★★

Love this facility! There are plenty of courts that are all converted/lined for pickleball. I have been playing here for about a year w/our Journey (of Faith) Southbay Pickleball teams. I am an intermediate player now and love playing people who are better than me. I hope to move to advanced soon later this year. The courts are always clean unless it's windy, which are some nights, late summer/early fall. The staff are very friendly and are very helpful if you need to set up reservations for open courts, that have moved to Tuesday evenings. Lastly, parking can get a bit tricky. So come early if you want to park in front or you will have to park in the back and or on the curbs. Enjoy!
Joseph C: ★★★★★
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and a lovely view of the South Bay. Parking can be a bit rough when things get busy, but the courts and fields are always very well-maintained. It's fun to come by in the early summer when the goats are out grazing the hillside.
Heidi W: ★★★★★
Great spot for pickleball. Lots of options for open play, great courts and nets, different opportunities and levels available. Parking can be tricky but other than that it's really great!!
Spencer K: ★★★★★
My new tennis home in San Pedro / Rolling Hills area. Like everywhere it's slowly becoming a pickleball club. But the tennis workouts are a ton of fun, very similar to Liveball (good cardio, hit lots of balls). The instructors are all very cool and I took a lesson with Sidd that is helping my game immensely. It's a modest club but courts are in great condition and they have a small Pro Shop with the usual services.
Janine T: ★★★★★
I was just planning to have my kids played during the summer but ended up extending the lessons since they enjoy coming here. The teachers are very nice, helpful and encouraging.
Molly R: ★★★★★
I just took my first pickle ball lesson at South Bay Tennis Center with Coach Kenadi. I had so much fun. The designated courts there are beautiful and the atmosphere is amazing. I can't wait to go back for my second lesson!
Venk T: ★★★★★
Courts and availability are a plus. The staff is nice and courteous. I think that deserves 5 stars right there. However, if you are new and trying to become a regular with their doubles groups, beware that there are established cliques of friends that are not very open to new people joining the sessions and will pressure management and succeed at stopping you from joining them unless they are short-handed, ruining your chances of having some regular fun at tennis. They won't tell you beforehand that some of these group sessions are for established regulars. Overall, it's better to go pay the higher monthly fee at a more professional tennis club that has equitable rules, allowing anyone to join as long as you were proactive in signing up, or showed up early on a first-come-first-served basis.

I played at the South Bay Tennis Center last night for the second time. It was for the South Bay Doubles League in which a team match is four doubles lines (matches). We warmed up on court 7 and it was a bit faster than the court 2 where we played our match. To me, that means that court 2 has been resurfaced more recently and the tennis balls slow a bit after they hit the ground. I prefer slower courts. There is a total of 8 lighted tennis courts at this facility. One really nice thing about the courts here is that the facility is on a hill and it is very quiet while you are playing. I've played at facilities that were right next to a freeway and you could barely hear your opponent or the sound of the ball hitting the strings or hitting the ground. One thing that you will have to adjust to while playing here at night is that the lighting setup is such that the lights are right in your line of sight since the lights are positioned in the four corners of the tennis court rather than on the side of the court like most other facilities. The lights did blind me once in a while, but I was able to adjust. I think the way the lights were positioned forced me to focus on the ball a bit harder, which is a good thing. Another thing, there is limited parking spots, so you will have to park on the side of the street if the lot is full. Xie Xie!

Wahoo!! First to review!!! Love these courts! They are clean and super well maintained. Aside from the scatterings of some stray tennis balls out of the court (watch your step!), these are probably some of the best courts I've played on. They have bright lights for some evening tennis, and are really great in conserving energy by clustering people to courts side by side to one another, so the empty areas can have a lights out. They're little tennis center is nice- they offer services like equipment for sale and restringing of rackets (which honestly I wasnt too happy with.. I eventually took him to my regular guy), but people do like it, so props to them. The bathrooms were clean, which is great. Just watch out for the wildlife, cause they tend to leave...err.. interesting smells.... There are a few skunks that hang around (verry stinkyyyy) and bats that fly overhead, but thankfully dont attack. Every now and then the lovely fertilizer smells comes through and sometimes bbq type smells. Once I even saw goats that were roaming the sides (to clear out the dry bush area.. very clever idea! Feed the animals!)
Matthew J: ★★★★
Very nice courts. I've had lessons with Dean and he is great. Highly reccomend.
Brandon C: ★★★★
Overall this is a solid tennis center. The staff is great and the courts are clean and in good condition. The adult workouts are hit or miss at times based on the individuals that come to play but the regulars are a good group and Sammy and Courtney run a good program.

Well kept fields (for soccer) and some great programs. However, woefully inadequate parking plus parents who drive over curbs, double park, etc make for an interesting, sometimes dangerous, sometimes annoying experience.

To hot there, not a shade to hide...

Local public tennis....could use a face lift.
G Q: ★★★
While the tennis center itself is nice, the pickleball area is not great. The lines are black and hard to see even in the daytime. It would have been nice to have a brighter color. I am going to try to go here at night but I am not sure if it will be worse seeing the black lines. Also, It is confusing where to go as there is no signage for Pickleball.
Negative Reviews:
Artemis Tegan: ★★
Not enough working water fountains. No shade
Andrew: ★
Very unwelcoming place for pickleball beginners. I’m new to pickleball so my buddy was giving me tips while we played. The manager, Courtney, chewed my friend out for several minutes after we finished up, insisting he “can’t give lessons” on the courts and that “he’s stealing business from other instructors”. I guess it was a little ironic considering that I was planning to book some lessons with them until this unpleasant interaction occurred. I recommend avoiding this place.
martyn c: ★★
My son is currently at Spring Camp having a suboptimal experience from an organizational and student quality perspective. Hopefully, this is an outlier experience. Disappointing for a serious tennis family nonetheless.
