I love going to this place every evening! Price for a couple I feel it’s worth, love their computer system for reserving courts which allows playing with others. Too crowded obviously but good to go early to get to the courts!

Best place to play badminton in San Diego bar none. 14 quality courts in two suites of this warehouse building. Good coaching available for lessons. This said, it's not perfect. Some people abuse the court reservation system by gaming it during busy times and the staff is young and not authoritative enough to enforce the rules... part of the issue is that there is no penalty for this unethical behavior (other than victim ire) and because it is rampant, many do it to keep playing w their closed groups. I get that people want to play with their friends and keep their foursome. BUT, don't sign up with 3 players, have one sign up for a later court and leave a spot open where I, as a single, sign up hoping to play. I show up after waiting 30-45 mins and you have 4 on the court already. I now have to sign up for a later time myself and wait again. This is highly inconsiderate. The best way to go is to bring your own foursome or at least twosome. (Not always practical) I play here 3x a week and have been a member since 2020.

I recently visited SMASH with a group of friends, and while the facilities were nice, the pricing structure is less than ideal. They charge per person rather than per court, which quickly adds up—especially if you’re playing singles matches. For instance, with four players, we each had to pay the individual rate plus a court reservation fee, making the overall cost unreasonably high for just an hour of play. This per-person pricing doesn’t make sense when only one court is used, and it’s not budget-friendly for those of us who want to play casually. It would be great if they offered more flexible options, such as hourly court rentals or group discounts. Until they revise their rates, I can’t recommend it for anyone looking to play regularly without spending a fortune.

This place has zero customer service skills. The front desk worker here does not explain how the court sign-up system works to first-timers, which caused a lot of confusion. Please give clear instructions before swiping people's cards. Also, this place does not offer immediate refunds at the front desk despite of unpleasant experience, so you would need to email their manager, which was another round of conversation without proper customer service. I would not recommend this place.
