The staff at Felipe Rec Center is amazing, so kind friendly and always accommodating. Amanda is 🔥at keeping track of all our pickleball reservations and making sure things run as smoothly as possible. If you’re looking for pickleball court reservations, weekly organized play, Leagues for different all skill levels, or large scale tournaments this facility and staff is amazing. 10/10 recommend
Base Pickleball: ★★★★★
This is our favorite place to teach pickleball. The courts are always clean and well taken care of, and the staff is friendly and helpful. But what really makes it special is the vibe. It feels more like a community club than just a city facility. People come not just to play, but to connect, laugh, and be part of something fun. It’s the kind of place where you look forward to showing up — whether you’re brand new to the game or a regular on the courts.

If you like both tennis and Pickleball this is the place to go. Beth and I are avid Pickleball players so each day you can drop in and find a friendly game. In addition, they have leagues based on your skill level. We highly recommend joining this center.

I have started playing Pickleball at The Felipe Tennis Center. This is a wonderful sport! Everyone I’ve met, is so kind and supportive and we really have a great time. What makes this place even better is Amanda Bassett, Pickleball League Director. Again, so kind and supportive of all of us, she organizes everything with a smile and words of encouragement. Thank you Amanda for all you do!
Josh Griffin: ★★★★
Super classy. Lots and lots of pickleball courts. Good variety of players and skill levels. Wish it wasn’t an additional cost but it’s solid.

Pat OBrien: ★★
One star taken away because recreational drop in play from 7 am to 9:30 is dominated by advanced players. Losing team rotates out and Winners hold the courts for as long as they like and disregard the rules of relinquishing the court after two wins. Another star is taken away since last year Felipe began charging Silver Sneakers and other free Medicare Advantage plans now charge seniors and disabled players $8 to play. Courts designated for Beginners/Developing players are ignored and used by advanced players. I contemplated taking away another star but instead looked at the positives; the staff and manager Amanda, and Coached Kevin and Mel are beyond awesome and the courts have been upgraded. But it is sad to know that newcomers taking lessons need to go elsewhere to play with others at the same level of expertise. Yes, a beginner taking classes has the option to reserve a court if they are bold enough to put together a 4 some to play and likely will have to pay a total of $32 for the privilege. On the up side, the manager, Amanda has put together a PWOP (players without partners) system that matches all levels of players to make a foursome. There is also Organized Play that matches players. This is an awsome program that sadly starts at 11 am. That works for the winter for many but summer heat keeps most seniors and disabled players are unlikely to participate. Bottom line: this once great facility no longer caters to new players or those who are handicapped by age or physical limitations.
