Robert Mack: ★★★★★
Joining the Newport Beach Tennis & Pickleball Club about a year ago was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’m absolutely obsessed. The location is unbeatable—right along the coast with that refreshing ocean breeze and beautiful weather almost year-round. It’s also super convenient, just minutes from my office. For the value, especially if you’re playing three to four times a week like I do, the membership is very reasonably priced. But what really sets this place apart is the community. I joined solo, not knowing a single person, and within a couple of months I had built a network of 20+ friends I could text or call for a game. The members are welcoming, social, and it’s incredibly easy to get plugged in through group chats, ladders, tournaments, and pickup games. And it’s gone beyond just pickleball. I’ve made friends I hang out with outside the club—we grab dinner, mastermind, collaborate on work. As a real estate agent, I’ve even made great professional connections and referral partners here. It’s more than just a club—it’s truly a vibrant community. If you’re looking to stay active, meet new people, and fall in love with pickleball (or tennis), this place is a gem. I’m proud to be a member and excited to be part of it for the long run.

The Tennis Club now has pickleball too ! They are great for teaching and coaching tennis players and children. Watching them play is amazing. And they added two clay courts. They are one of the best pickleball clubs in the country. They have over 30 courts with great nets and lighting. The courts are busy but you can reserve courts. Plus there’s a restaurant bout in - the Clubhouse Grill

I went to see a comedy show with Har Williams and it was amazing.
Bob Kelly: ★★★★
Pickeball tournament was interesting and very crowded. Courts and setting pretty nice.
Justin Norman: ★★★★★
My wife and I had a group event of 50 people here for our wedding and had an absolutely fantastic time! We were able to rent out our own section of pickleball courts for a great price. They catered food that was delicious. The staff and ownership went above and beyond making this part of our wedding weekend unforgettable. Everyone that came said it was the most fun wedding event they have ever attended. We would 100% recommend this to anyone. Thank you Carl!

Pickleball is a great sport to get your whole body in shape. There are many coaches to learn the skills to play the game. There are organized 'Ladders' to providing playing and meeting more member players.

Faraz Ghadooshahy: ★★★★★
One of the most outstanding tennis clubs I have been to. Went there for the PPA tournament; had such an incredible time, I didn't want to leave. There are food options, and a really cool social culture to the club. Cant wait to go back
Dan Kassel: ★★★★★
Great club to belong to with lots of fun PB matches. Warm and friendly atmosphere and staff. Seth is so helpful getting us courts.
Robby Z: ★★★★
Just played Pickleball there. Lots of courts. The negatives are: 1) only one gate for each 4 courts so you are constantly being interrupted. 2) locker room with only about 20 lockers and all of them are taken. 3) 2 men's toilets for a club with over 30 courts. 4) only 2 showers and both did not drain so you stand in 3" of water. 5) I don't think the showers have been cleaned in weeks... dirty and unhealthy.
Julio C Andrade: ★★★★
No membership pricing online, they want you to call in. But the place has a lot of courts.
Vladimir: ★★★★★
The best place to play your self or send your kids over there. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Coaches are the best - they know what has to be done. Also they have recovery center - where is Brandon his best to get you back!!!!
Diane Mondini: ★★★★★
This is the most popular place in town these days with over 800 members playing pickleball and socializing. The addition of new pickleball courts has added to the ambiance but there's still plenty of tennis courts for the avid tennis players.

Came here for the PPA so my opinion is limited to this. Restrooms were out of service and I can't believe the didn't replace the unsightly roof shingles before the big tournament came into town. Wild.

I was a long time tennis player back in my high school and college days. I have now traded in my tennis racket for a pickleball paddle. For my love of sports, I dedicate my 2,200th Yelp review to all the tennis and pickleball enthusiasts in the world. This one is for you!On the weekend of March 7 & 8, 2026, I had the fun opportunity to attend the PPA Tour - SXY Newport Beach Open Semi-Finals Saturday and Championship Sunday. This wonderful venue was held at The Tennis & Pickleball Club in Newport Beach. It was walking distance from Fashion Island, but I ended up parking nearby and got shuttled to the event.Check-in was easy. Line went really fast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tennis and pickleball courts were really nice and well maintained. Both Semi-Finals and Championship matches were held at the Humana Championship Court.Seating was not pre-assigned... first come first served. I was lucky to get pretty good seats on both days. Thank you! Bleachers seating was not the most comfortable. I forgot to bring my cushion. Oh well. There were a lot of participants and spectators. Various merch and service vendors plus Pickleball Central were present. Bought myself a custom sweater with cute quote "Great minds dink a like". Food and beverage options were limited. Luxury restroom trailers were located in the parking lot outside of the club. All singles and doubles matches were amazing. All pro pickleball players were spectacular in their game. I love watching pickleball!SXY Newport Beach Open Winners (2026 PPA Tour):~Mixed Doubles: Anna Leigh Waters & Ben Johns def. Tina Pisnik & Eric Oncins~Women's Doubles: Anna Leigh Waters & Anna Bright def. Parris Todd & Rachel Rohrabacher~Men's Doubles: Ben Johns & Gabriel Tardio def. Hayden Patriquin & Christian Alshon~Women's Singles: Anna Leigh Waters def. Lina Jansen~Men's Singles: Hunter Johnson def. Federico StaksrudAt the end of the event, Anna Leigh Waters (ALW) took photos with the fans. I was one of the lucky fans. She signed my cap, too. So cool! Thank you so much ALW!What a fun weekend! I look forward to more pro pickleball events in the future. Maybe one day I'll register to play pickleball along side with the pros. I just need to find myself a pickleball doubles partner. I can't wait! For the tennis and pickleball enthusiasts, keep playing the sports you love always and forever! Win or lose, just play your game and have fun!

I spent several days at The Tennis & Pickleball Club on a recent weekend in Newport Beach for the PPA tournament...It made for a really good venue although the PPA attracts so many players and fans that for this particular tournament, they probably need to add some additional food and beverage options!Courts are great although pending which court you play on, there may not be great options for spectators. It is walking distance to Fashion Mall which we visited one day for some shopping and food between matches.I look forward to returning in the future!
Yonnie C.: ★★★★
Came here to watch the recent APP Pickleball Tour for the Newport Beach Open during 4th of July weekend. It was quite fun as a spectator although parking is miserable. We found something walking distance from the club so it worked out. Got a couple pickleballs for free for the kids from the vendors. Ordered cheeseburger and chicken wrap from the cafe on site, got to sit at the VIP sofas in front of the main pickleball courts; nice breeze and nice weather. Got to take a photo with this 2025's men's singles pro pickleball player at the tournament, saw him at the quarter final and semifinal matches. He ended up winning the gold on Sunday. Nice!
Cassie C.: ★★★★★
So many courts! So many different types and ages of people playing in the daily. The vibe is very much like a community of people learning and enjoying the fastest growing sport!
Celeste O.: ★★★★
Big, nice and clean bathrooms. Can't complain. Don't know pricing so can't comment since I went for a pickleball tournament for The Botanist. Lotsa courts! Staff is friendly.
Jake V.: ★★★★★
Great place to play with competitive games. Food could use some work but it's decent.
J'aime K.: ★★★★
Overall 3.5 stars.Attended a fundraiser for CREW. Courts were in great condition. All staff were very helpful and hospitable.Parking is very very tight. Hardly any available spots. Only two handicap parking stalls.Restrooms were adequate and clean (kind of needs a renovation in the near future).Food was meh (veggie / dip tray, guac, hummus, taco bar, salsa's, chips). It was part cooked food, and part pre-made packaged food (salsa's, guacs and dips). Non-alcoholic drinks were great (iced tea, arnold palmer, water, etc.).Seemed like a very popular place to learn tennis and pickleball.

*Review of APP Event* This Pickleball haven hosted the Associated Pickleball Players (APP) Tournament sponsored by Owl Paddles. I am currently dealing with the pickleball bug! I have been an avid pickleball player since being introduced to the sport in 2023. I have attended two Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) events and have always enjoyed watching the Pros play. APP, a tournament that has amazing players such as Megan Fudge, Jack Munro, Will Howells were some of the stars playing at this event. In terms of the venue, I have no complaints! The parking staff was kind and there was clear signage on where you can and cannot park. The volunteer staff were professional and ensured that everyone had tickets. The tickets were quite affordable, with $15 (+ $3 transaction fee) being the cost of admission. The vendors and amenities were top notch with delicious samples being passed out, giveaways for free gear, and high quality food available for purchase. I had an amazing time at the APP Newport Beach! The courts are in such an ideal location that it is hard not for Professional Pickleball to turn this place down. I would absolutely prefer this venue over San Clemente Lifetime any day!

I'm reviewing based off my Pickleball Tournament experience at their Newport Beach classic. They organized an amazing tournament...Pickleball Courts: They are dedicated to this rapidly growing sport and they're absolutely making the right business deci$sion. You can get 4x more the revenue per court from pickleball vs tennis. The courts are first class and the windscreen murals are fantastic. The pro shop has a great inventory of pickleball paddles and gear. Every major brand and model was on the wall for you to pick up and grip. The accessories game was on point too in case you forgot something at home.Tournament staff: The staff was so friendly and chatted away with me like we were old friends. There were two rain delays during my tournament. They were amazing with getting the courts safe, dry and resuming the tournament asap. Very well done.I'm pretty sure I'll be back to play as they host tournaments frequently currently. If you get the chance to play here for recreation or competition, the tennis club at Newport Beach Country Club has some first class pickleball facilities. Enjoy!
Candice S.: ★★★★
Been a member for a little over a year and enjoy the numerous courts and ability to take lessons to skill up. It feels a bit cliquey as anything in Newport is, and some more advanced players can be rude but there are plenty of awesome people that make this a fun place ! Only watch out is for new members, it can be hard to plug in at first with the varying GroupMe groups and app activities but once you figure it out, it's a great place to play!

I called today from Hawaii to learn more about the tennis and pickleball memberships & I was extremely impressed with the way I was handled over the phone despite being thousands of miles away and never having stepped foot onto the club premises yet. First of all, the tennis membership currently has a two-year waiting list and I was able to get both myself and my mother onto the waiting list immediately over the phone without any contracts, applications, or money paid whatsoever. Secondly, the pickleball membership for my mother requires us to come and visit the club for a tour and then to complete the application with an initiation fee. Yes, there is a 12-month initial term but the monthly rate is very reasonable compared to other clubs in Orange County. There seem to be no imminent signs of a pickleball membership quota approaching either, as the lady who spoke with me over the phone said that waiting until June to sign up for the pickleball membership will not affect the ability to join at that time. I am a big fan of what Sean has spearheaded this club into becoming thus far and cannot wait to join the club in two years with a tennis membership! My mother is also a huge fan of all of the pickleball programs this club currently seems to offer via the monthly newsletters I've found online. Very much looking forward to moving to the area this June & touring the club!! Best regards~~

Beautiful tennis courts, nice staff, and great coaches! I had the privilege of meeting Coach Lucas and Coach Megan! Stopped by for adult beginner tennis clinic. Had a great time and learned so much in one hour.
Ippon72 C.: ★★★★★
Great location to play but also to watch the up and coming kids wanting to get better. Good quality tennis. Great weather year round. Very close to Fashion Island if you're too stressed to watch.

We love this club! The coaches, Abbee, Mason, and the others are just fantastic. There seems to always be a quart available and the people are so friendly.
Abraham M.: ★★★★★
this club has amazing energy and amazing people working for them. Sean has done an amazing job bringing life to Newport Beach. I love to play pickleball there, socialize with the other members, eat at the restaurant, and watch the high level tennis play there.
Sofi R.: ★★★★★
I have been a member, and it's been an amazing experience. The owner, Sean is very nice and caring but runs a tight ship. Love playing tennis and pickleball now and can't wait for the restaurant to open. The whole club looks 10 times better just compared to when I joined. My favorite part is the kind front desk staff, who always greet me by name and listen to my stories. The maintenance guys also work so hard and it's amazing for me to see the owner there night and day. Please keep it up, because it has changed my life.
P T.: ★★★★★
I love the Pickleball Club! I joined a couple months ago and so far everything has been great. The club has gone through some changes but the facilities are great and I am always able to get on a court. Everyone is very friendly as well!

The Pickleball Club is AWESOME! The staff and coaches are extremely personable and helpful. The pro-shop and grille are well run and the food is delicious and has healthy options. Best social, cardio, friendly, competitive environment and incredibly addictive.
Judy C.: ★★★★★
Beyond impressed with this club! Thanks to Sean who built the club and brought Pickleball to ttc making it a huge success, where many of us enjoy spending time there playing , bonding and having lunch at the clubhouse grill. Sean's constant hard work , and excellent office staff who always bring a warm welcome and excellent service have made this the best experience of a Tennis and Pickleball club.
Laura K.: ★★★★★
Kareem and his academy helped my kids achieve their tennis dreams of playing Division 1 college tennis. But he not only taught them tennis but also discipline, respect for authority, sportsmanship, and tenacity. He clearly loves the game, loves to teach and cares deeply for his students.
Johnathan H.: ★★★★★
This place has really gone uphill. They have recently done a lot of remodeling and construction and the pickleball is run very well. They always have pickleball courts available and their tournaments are well run and organized. They have a vibrant and active community of pickleball players. They also have great customer service. You can tell that they really care about their business and they are always trying to improve, whether that is by upgrading their facilities or by shifting their business model to what people are playing these days and that is pickleball!
Phyllis Y.: ★★★★★
Everyone is helpful, cheerful and great people. The courts are nice and well maintained. Meet a lot of really nice people. Shelly Wong is a great instructor and good sense of humor. Stefanie is in wonderful and always smiling.
Joseph B.: ★★★★★
Meeting new friends on the tennis court and the wife and I are getting into Pickelball and that is a fun game to play together. Wish they had a food option but somebody should be coming in to offer something..and they have a basketball rim that I can shoot at during this pandemic scare..the city took down all the basketball rims around town..
Mike S.: ★★★★★
The club offers the best Pickeball facility in Southern California. Lots of courts, lights for night playa and full service pro shop and grill. Great membership and value.
Mary D.: ★★★★
This is the best facility if you are a Pickleball player; they have an expansive program. Zee and Sean offered exceptional customer service.

My 5 year old got to try their summer camp program, and it was excellent! They have the kindest staff, knowledgeable & professional coaches. Plus, ownership is very attentive. All the equipment look new and are in great condition. I highly recommend all adults and children to join.
Cindy S.: ★★★★
We where members before we had grand kids when it was Balboa Bay Club. Then the club really went down hill when the Yacht Club took over. The club was dying to say the least. That's when we joined Palisades and NBTC. Last coupe years the former pro from RCI, Sean Abdali became owner. We have met him and spoken to him many times. Both my husband and I and our children and grand kids think he's amazing. He's also one of the best tennis coaches we have ever come across. We even have met and participate in clinics with Nick Bollettieri. The club does have its negatives and positives. The club has been upgraded but needs better lights in the evening. The club staff is super nice and always willing to help. The billing system they used was horrible but they have changed to new software. The problem was that our bill was only given us not enough notice before charging. That was bad and frustrating but they where always fair and willing to go extra mile to fix it. The club now has a team of young match arrangers. The former match arranging person, Glenda retired after I think 30 or 40 years. She was great but now we get more calls and variety. We do love Glenda. The club biggest negative is that they do not have food service. They say they working in it but so far that's a big negative I think. The biggest plus, the membership includes free clinics and they offer them 3-4 days a week. The quality of clinics had dropped with too many people and not enough pros. In the last month we have double or triple the number of pros and we are loving them more again. The quality of pros and junior program is the best in Orange County. The club also needs to resurface some of the courts although most of them in great shape.
Mark H.: ★★★★★
Love the multiple free clinics each week, great crowd of members, the friendly, proactive and talented staff keep members engaged....easy-going atmosphere is welcoming to new members!
Rae H.: ★★★★★
Awesome courts with kind staff that were very ready to accommodate the size of a college tennis team. Vassar Women's Tennis had a fun time playing here and we are thankful for the friendly environment! Definitely looking forward to coming back in future years.
Meri T.: ★★★★★
Great club with amazing coaches and a director Sean Abdali. They are working hard to satisfy the expectations of the club members at the same time producing high level junior tennis players. And more importantly they are serving authentic and organic Italian food now!!!!
Carissa B.: ★★★★★
I love my summers here! I play a ton of tennis and Glenda (who takes care of the tennis schedule) set me up with the right level of gals I could play with... had me out on the courts 3-4 times per week... and I met some amazing ladies who I have been friends with since! Even though I'm only in Newport for the summer... they treat me as one of their own! See you in June!
Marko S.: ★★★★★
I have been here for a while now and would still be if I didnt move to Europe. Currently playing ATP tennis and have to say they have great coaches that have helped me reach this level of play. Miss this place, especially the ocean breeze while playing haha.
Renzo Z.: ★★★★★
I have been a member of The Tennis Club at Newport Beach Country Club for two years and think it is the best value in Orange County for tennis! No other club offers free day, evening and Saturday clinics to its members. Fun, hour-and-a-half-long clinics taught by real certified tennis professionals that emphasize technique, strategy and fitness. Plus, because of the adult clinics popularity, more pros have been added to accommodate the demand. In addition, the TTC has great match arranging service for its members. And if your going solo, there's the ball machine and lots of backboards to practice against. And, a private or semi-private lesson can really up your game fast. Moreover, this is the only tennis club that benefits from regular visits by tennis legend, Nick Bolletieri. His talks to the adults and juniors are inspirational to all, his anecdotes about the tennis champions he's coached are wonderful, and his tennis technique insights during clinics are spot-on. He even films some of his "Ask Nick" spots for the Tennis Channel at our club. And when he is not at the club, we benefit from the insights of our club owner and pros who were taught by Nick and IMG. Although I have no children in the Junior programs, I know many parents who trust their young tennis players to TTC and are very happy with what they learn. Our international tennis pros have mentored juniors into successful college and pro careers. It is disappointing to read the negative reviews for this friendly club, especially when the club has so much to offer to the tennis community. The club owner is continually striving to make it even better and more fun with new tennis social events for the entire family, TV lounge, tournaments, and facility improvements.Overall, a great place with great people to play tennis!
Jeremy G.: ★★★★★
Joined the tennis club after using the Groupon. I love playing in the clinics three times a week. The instructors are attentive and fun. They help you and keep the cardio and hits going the whole time. I have met so many great ladies and enjoy playing on the team now too. The recent upgrade to the food area and outdoor courtyard is a pleasure. Management has stepped up their game in the last few months! Kudos to Aaron and Sean!!
Janie H.: ★★★★★
We first met Kevin Steele, our tennis teacher, while he was hitting tennis balls with the Vassar College Tennis team at The Tennis Club next to the Newport Beach Country Club. My husband and I were told about Kevin's multitude of achievements in tennis by the head Vassar College coach. Since then, my daughter and I have been taking tennis lessons from him when we are in town. He is great! He communicates effectively, very professional, considerate, educated, an all around awesome teacher! At the end of each lesson, my daughter's enthusiasm for tennis, personal confidence and energy improves significantly. Keven not only helps teach great tennis skill, but instills great enthusiasm with social skills and improved self confidence.
W.L. S.: ★★★★
i have belonged here for several years, only for tennis, a senior group, real nice fellows and the staff brings us a pitcher of water when we begin; 3 days a week and occasional saturday game, like most clubs the courts can use some work; good instructors and a lot of young people are availing themselves.bill

Not a bad facility by any means, but, when you're a tennis and pickleball club, I expect windscreens on all fences. I've played on public courts with a better setup.

Came here as a guest. Noticed a few things. It wasn’t as clean as you would think for having a name like Tennis and Pickleball club of Newport Beach. The place just overall felt a bit rundown.
Amy A.: ★★★
I have never been to the tennis club but I CAN say many of these photos are misleading showing the very nice clubhouse at NEWPORT BEACH COUNTRY club which is not affiliated. SO you may want to check it out for yourself. Not quite sure why they are not affiliated. Would be nice. But 2 completely different clubs.
Gina G.: ★★★
I tried out this club using the Groupon. I mainly took the drill classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is always only 1 instructor even when there are over 12 people in the class, kudos to drill instructors for working hard to make it work....however it is not the best for the players. Also, the tennis balls are the worst ...most of them should be thrown away. The women's restroom is so OLD, needs to be updated. I've been a short member of RCI in Irvine and I believe that is worth the membership due they are asking for. I also had a hard time adjusting to how dark it is around the parking lot... but it's the least of the problems.
Mike P.: ★★★
One of the best at night, no waiting, no hassling. But they turn off the light at EXACTLY 10 pm !!The facility is a bit run down, but the coaching staff with Taylor Dent and Phil Dent are fantastic and offer great deal.
Brigitte A.: ★★★
It's a shame they continue to oversell memberships causing court shortages, parking shortages etc...half the courts do not have lights, with oversold membership and winter coming, the issue will be worse. I do love the PB players, sense of community and Love the outside Event Group who manages the PB side of the club, they do an awesome job! Please stop membership before you ruin and great thing
Elizabeth C.: ★★★
Saw my friend play a tournament here. Plenty of courts, parking and friendly staff. I kind of wished there were more shaded areas to watch people play. I am not sure about the ladies locker room but it could be nicer for the amount of money members pay to play here. But besides that it looks like a great place to play there. My overall rating would be 3.5 for this place.

From a distance, the club is large with plenty of courts and looks nice. However, this is far from the “country club” vibe that it’s trying to go for. First off, the food is awful here. Chicken was bland. The rice that came with my lunch was hard and if anyone actually tasted the food before serving it, they would know. This is by far the worst club food I’ve had. As a cherry on top, I saw a mouse next to the clubhouse grill by the tree. Food is literally being prepared right next to it. So gross. I also had their tacos before and I’m convinced that prison food is probably better. The bathrooms are a joke. They have two stalls for the women’s and a while back they were renovating and we were expecting an expansion. They put a coat of white paint and changed the doors and now call it a Women’s Lounge. We still only have two stalls. This place runs tournaments with 1,000+ attendees. As long as you are there to play and not eat or pee, you should have a pleasant time.

This is a bootleg establishment. ZERO professionalism and zero class! No one answers any phones for hours and 3 days straight, I personally go up there and the rudest stuck up person ever greets us. Treats me like a beginner asking if I want group lessons, I’m a 6.0 trying join what are you talking about. The tennis courts were mid and old. Facility looked bad trash every where. Who would pay for this? Better facilities at local parks and zero rudeness! Yall ain’t cool

Horrible. Came here looking to sign up with a membership after playing a pickleball tournament here. Woman was extremely rude. Yelled at us when we looked around just to look at the courts. Courts are also converted tennis courts with temporary nets. Random basketball hoops and messy trash everywhere. Playing surface also seemed extremely unsafe. Will certainly not be signing up. $200 a month for this garbage place would be theft.

BEWARE! Not what it appears to be. This place is full of drama, harassment, rumors of bad business, etc. Sean, the month to month lease operator, is unethical and not truthful (my opinion). Hundreds of thousands of dollars in monthly membership fees, for a subpar location with misinformation abound. Where's all the money going Sean???? Would love transparent bookkeeping. Members deserve WAY BETTER. Do your research before joining - talk to members. Definitely not worth it.

Poorly run place. This place is not safe for your children. Took my son there in the summer and they put him off tennis. Specifically guy called Kareem- insincere, abrupt, money focused and worst of all abusive to the kids in a bullying fashion. Coaches not paid well and come and go part-timing at this place while they study/ work elsewhere. Even though there is supposed to be a reception desk strangers can walk in anytime and outsiders can wonder around. Again the worst place for your child. He will not learn any good sportsmanship instead will be just used by the club to allow outsiders to play UTR matches. Also too expensive and you can find far better and more professional coaching elsewhere

My wife and I became members about 16 months Overall, we have been happy with the club. However, yesterday, my wife and I went to the club to work on some of her techniques. As I showed her a standard groundstroke technique, Abbi, the club's lead instructor, approached us and told me that I was not allowed to teach. We can drill, but no teaching. Are you kidding me? We pay a chunk of change for membership and I can't teach my wife how to hit a better groundstroke? A year ago, I would have rated TCC five stars. It's still fun to play with all the great members. But this last experience earns a rating of two.

$1000 I paid to suscribe $200 month membership that doesn’t have classes available and if you want to leave you need to pay $500, this place is absolutely crazy, good luck if you want to be here.

I've called twice to ask about the different coaches with training groups playing there and each time they've told me they'll get back to me that day but never did. The first time they got super defensive like I was trying to expose them or something. I didn't realize investigating coaching options was a sensitive topic for a tennis club.

I applied for a Pickleball membership 7 months ago as the new courts are beautiful. Sean and his team appear positive and knowledgable, but they've kept my $250 deposit and do not respond to questions

No match arranging service which they promised, You have to arrange & call people to see if they are available to play! I could go to the public courts if I have to find my own match & don't pay any dues! Horrible customer service. Bathrooms are flooding & smells all the time! Worst Tennis club ever. Don't get fooled by their advertisement!

Came to play pickleball for 1 hour. Price: $160! Insane! Laughable. This place need some new management.

Snoody, elitists, obnoxious, and it’s because it’s in Newport Beach that they can get away this kind of s_ _ t. The Pickled Ball side is normal... fun. The tennis ... Not!

I have been very reluctant to write this review but decided it was time. This establishment has disappointed me very much; the owner of this club has been very rude...I have seen this happen multiple times, and he requires a serious attitude change if he wants people to continue to visit. The positive experiences I have had were with a young woman at the restaurant, a young man at the front desk, and two women at the pro shop. I hope the owner of this club realizes that he needs to treat everyone with DIGNITY and RESPECT.

I can't believe they allow comedy shows while I have my private lesson and there is a tent ! Drunk people while I'm doing my lessons not what I pay for ! Future members be aware !

My girlfriend called the women's restroom an abomination. Smelly and always overflowing. WAY WAY overpriced for what they offer. $3,000 just to join this clique fest?? Then around $300/month?? PASS.

This Pickleball Club is old school and not in a good way. They do not allow a 30-day out of their annual term contract, the only contract they offer. Despite injury or moving. For a club aspiring to be high caliber to have such archaic policies is really harsh. Lifetime and Equinox both allow for early out. It's a good old fashion "gotcha" mentality here. This club is also full of social cliques and the facilities are old and run down. There is no clear on boarding of new members and it's a guessing game on how to reserve a court or how to engage in play. Communication is severely lacking. Here it's all who you know. Management is out of touch and out of date. Save your $ and play elsewhere.

My wife and I became members over a year ago. Our initial experience was great. Recently, things seem to have changed dramatically. Lots of business problems. Lots of member drama. And a huge dues increase. Ok, so maybe in time the problems will be solved, the drama will fade, and the dues will be worth it. But today, my wife and I went to the club to work on some of her techniques. That's nice that you are responding to your negative reviews. I think over the years, there have been a lot of bad customer/member experiences that have tainted the reputation of TTC and yourself as the director of the club. I hope this is a step in the right direction to rectify that. I completely understand your mindset in trying to change the club around over the past couple years. You were trying to give the property a major facelift with all the facility improvements while also trying to run/grow the club. You were wearing so many hats at the same time. This area is a competitive market for tennis clubs and you were grinding to stay afloat. Unfortunately that grind/stress/pressure led to some questionable business ethics at times and many unfulfilled promises. It's been over a year since our interactions at the club, described in my original YELP review. I'm not writing this now to rehash the past. I just want people that come to this page to know the truth and can use it however they need. While you might not have claimed this page as a business owner until recently, you have been monitoring it for a long time. Within a couple days of me writing my initial review (over a year ago), you finally returned my wife's messages and agreed to start our refund process. You gave us half of our refund immediately through Venmo. We had to work hard over the next couple of weeks to get the 2nd half back as you said a check was mailed a couple times, but never arrived. You also asked my wife multiple times, before we received the 2nd half of the refund, if she would have me remove my review after we were fully refunded. You explained how you were a family man just trying to work hard to be successful. While that did pull at our hearts as family people ourselves, we felt an obligation/duty to have our story be told a cautionary tale to others. Sean, I hear your Pickleball club is doing great. And maybe now that many of the facility improvement projects are complete, you can focus on the customer service/experience side of things a little more. There is always room for change and growth. I hope you are a tremendous success and provide great services/experiences to all your members and prospective members. I just think this all has to come through actions over time, not just your words now. Unfortunately most people come to a business' YELP page after already having the negative experience, but if you are not in that category and are reading this before deciding whether to join this club NOW (early 2022), my suggestions would be: Don't lock into a YEARLY MEMBERSHIP under any circumstance. Don't rely on what is promised or said on the phone or on a tour, but rather experience it to see if it's right for you. Talk to people about the club and trust your instincts. It might not seem like it, but I am rooting for you Sean. I hope you can make your club thrive and grow into the best club it can possibly be for the community. My wife and I moved to the OC/Newport area in the Fall of 2019 and were looking for a private place to play tennis and meet players. We toured The Tennis Club, Newport Beach Tennis Club, and Palisades Tennis Club. Not only was The Tennis Club the closest to our house, but the director/owner Sean Abdali really sold us on the club. He mentioned all the new projects (restaurant, tennis programs, fitness classes, snack bar, etc) they were going to get going in 2020 and warned us the other clubs were possibly going to lose their leases. No one could have imagined the impact of COVID, but Sean and The Tennis Club has failed to live up to any of our expectations pre and during COVID. STAY AWAY if you are looking to join a private tennis club. He recently boasted to my wife that they have had 500 new members sign up in 2020. But there are the same amount of member clinics as there were when we first signed up at the end of 2019. There are no member tournaments or social gatherings. No member newsletters, no pro shop, snack shop, stringer on site, or any basic tennis amenities for members. If you forgot balls to play with, they don't have any for purchase. These are basic things. If you want a bar or smoothie after your tennis workout, not available. This was all even before COVID. My wife and I briefly took lessons and my wife played in a clinic. The balls the teaching professionals used were completely flat (not just a little). This is fine if you taking lessons or clinics at a public court for a discounted rate, but not a private tennis club at full rate. I understand COVID has tremendously impacted all businesses. It seems as if Sean is trying to stay afloat. He hosts tournaments, UTRs, rents out space for 3rd party kids dance programs, rents out courts to 3rd party junior programs/academies to bring additional revenue. (I think he counts these junior academies in his 500 new member count!) He has even come up with some scam that he says to bring guests to the club, you have to pay a $20 fee, but you must say they are staying at a nearby partnering hotel. All these new revenue streams can't be done at the expense or priority of the members of the club. This has put a tremendous strain on the availability of tennis courts. These tournaments/UTRs/Junior academies/programs are taking up minimum 75% of the courts all day long (most of the time they will take all the courts).Just last week, my wife and I tried to make reservations to play at 2:30pm in the middle of the week, the front desk told me members couldn't play from 2pm-4pm everyday. I had to text Sean who said it was fine. I am sure as the owner/director, he doesn't want to be dealing with court reservation issues. When we get there, the people in the front have no idea where to put us. They have to go get Sean. Sean has run around the facility like a chicken with his head cut off to try to find a court to squeeze us onto as juniors are on all the courts. He is asking courts what their scores are to see which juniors are close to finishing. Let's just say this doesn't make us feel very comfortable. What's the point of paying to join a private tennis club if you feel as if you are fighting for courts? Once we were put on a court at 2:30, we enjoyed playing. Then at 3:05pm, one of the junior instructors interrupted our playing to ask us when we would be done using the court. He needed to know for his "scheduling". You cannot make this stuff up. This totally killed our enjoyment and made us feel rushed. My wife called Sean to discuss these issues and specifically what happened with this junior instructor. Sean got very defensive. First he said that he was at the club the whole time we were playing and no one interrupted us or asked us to leave. He accused us of lying about the whole incident? Then he started yelling and complained that we showed up at 2:19pm expecting a court. Then he started saying that he doesn't need members like us at his club that are just difficult and complain. Then he just abruptly hung up on my wife. We have tried calling him and texting him multiple times over the past 2 weeks and he refuses to get back to us. He has made coming to his club completely untenable and uncomfortable for us and we would like to discuss getting refunded for the rest of the year, but he refuses to speak to us. Sounds like something a professional director of a tennis club should do right?HIs demeanor on the phone was completely unprofessional. It seems very consistent with some of the other reviews further down on this yelp page. Also the fact that he never lived up to vision he sold us on when we agreed to join the club seems very consistent with the complaints of dishonesty on other reviews on this yelp page. If you are looking for a good tennis club to join in the Newport/Irvine area, I'd highly recommend you stay away from this club.

Hi Sean -My previous post is 100% legit . I can forward you documentation of my multiple phone calls and emails to you and your staff . I have attempted to work with you on a resolution since October 2021 . My year membership started in May 2021 and as previously explained not a fit for me - due to your clinic times, lack of Covid policies , my change in personal circumstances and non responsive management . I have requested options to cancel my year membership with your club and would like to stop you charging my cc . I have already forfeited my membership deposit . I am not using your club and not costing you any additional expenses. To reference your initial response - even car leases usually offer individuals options to terminate personal leases early , transfer your lease or offer a lease buyout .I would like to make potential members aware of your policies, inability to work with your members with changing circumstances and lack of customer service / empathy , before joining your club . I would suggest you take another look at your negative reviews and consider the multiple suggestions to make you club better and embrace the community that supports you . Disappointing experience . Horrible customer service, and unfriendly management . Paid a lot of money for a pickleball membership that I didn't get to use . Locked into a year membership, and they continue to charge my credit card every month . I have reached out to Sean , Abbi and accounts payable to request a cancellation of my membership several times. . I cannot afford the money on something that I cannot use . I should have read the other reviews before I joined. They did not have Covid policies in place, courts are crowded , clubhouse was not open and clinics were not geared for players who work during the day. Please don't make the same mistake I did .. read all of the reviews.

As far as tennis goes, this club is alright. I really wanted to *love* it but I just didn't. The court layout here is open and there are a lot of places to view matches if you are a spectator. The courts themselves are pretty clean but the surrounding ground outside of it, not so much. They have quite a few spill spots and stains. They have really nice pickle ball courts right behind the tennis ones but it could get loud from the members screaming and playing on them. If you are used to a quiet club, this may not be the place for you. If you don't mind it, then it probably wouldn't bother much. Some upsides are that there are plenty of courts and plenty of parking just outside of the club. The biggest downside is that the overall vibe is not very welcoming at all. I've noticed that it is very cliquish with many members who have known each other for years. They will treat you as if you could not afford to breathe the same air as them and same goes for the staff in the tennis office. I've grown up here and I've never had a problem until I've stepped foot at this club and that's unfortunate. I consider myself to be a pretty nice person but I don't like to play with people who are rude, especially if it does match match up to their level of play. As for the staff, the older women who works here (not sure if she is still here) is the worst. Very rude and demanding to people, especially guests. I saw her completely rip someone apart one day over bringing a chair into the venue and she tried to embarrass her in front of everyone. I've played at Country Clubs all over the world and while this one is nice, I don't think it is worth the money. For whatever it's worth, I've had a better experience playing at the country clubs in Riverside and they were much more modern.

My daughter competed in a Junior Team Tennis match here. The only viewing area peeking in through the wire and canvas. I was asked to leave by the owner because I had no business within coaching distance of the players. I just wanted to watch my daughter play. Later I told him the boys playing doubles didn't know how to play. They were rotating on defense. He then says to be would I like to supervise. I told him I wasn't allowed on the court or to talk to the kids. In other words FU

I tried this club out two weeks ago with my son. I soon realized that Kareem was just trying to grab my money. I would seriously not recommend Kareem to anyone. He is unprofessional and completely dishonest.

I played a tennis tournament here one time and my match was delayed by like 2 hours so I kept asking when it was going to happen and the director of the tournament (Sean "Bollitieri") said if that I asked one more question I would get kicked out. I was very unhappy! :(

This club continues to charge me after I cancelled the membership. They would stop charging me after I called them and suddenly they would start to charge me again. I haven't been at the club for a year and they start to charge me again this July.

My daughter just went through a tennis tournament (UTR Sectional) at this club. The draws were rigged to favor certain players (for example: Mike Tyson's daughter). Their objective was to make money, not helping tennis players to improve their UTR.

Worst tennis club I have ever been to...very run down! The owner is dishonest! Keeps charging my Credit card after I cancelled my membership. Had to take legal action. Will NEVER go back!

called for information on pickleball, and both times they hung up the phone before saying hello.....

Generally SOOOO overpriced. Please do homework on the Sean background. He is not a former tennis player in college or anything close. He says ATP, watch him play hahahaha (!!!). Anyway, it is good day care and very expensive.
